no - they won't have to knock. They just have you towed without question as you have blocked them access to the public highway.

The last time the council issued them a ticket for blocking my access. I had to sign a small form to say that I own the property and that I did not give them permission to park there, so no they will have to knock as its my property.

No you were talking about blocking them IN not preventing them access to their own drive.
    Two different things.

I do sympathise with your plight and it appears that you may have inconsiderate new neighbours.

The danger is that this could escalate to a full scale fall out and life would become uncomfortable - which is something that you do want in your own home.

Rather than look at legalities or trying to get back at them, as one or two have suggested, it may be better to put it at the back of your mind today.

Then, when there is no obstruction, try and have a conversation and ask for their help to ensure their visitors do not park badly.

Apologise for the ticket and say you were unaware it was their car?

Take a bottle round as a "welcome to the street" - they may invite you in to share a drink?

You could have the conversation on a 1 to 1 basis or perhaps your husband has a chat with her partner?

If it works you will feel better and have tackled the issue in the right way.

If it doesn't work - get your own back, there's plenty of ideas posted and we're all on your side!

No sorry, I got my neighbor to block the car thats in my drive way in.
So that driver will have to ask for the car to be moved before they leave my drive.
Misunderstanding, I would never block there drive as its just as bad as what they are doing and not worth the fuss.

sadly your still blocking them access to the public highway - even if they are on your property!

As said have to tread carefully with disputes with neighbours like this, you could end up on the wrong side of the law.

    I know it's damn frustrating!

Your right, maybe I should take a step back as its not worth the hassle. I will have a word with missy tomorrow. I would find it very hard to offer them a bottle of wine and I really don't want to socialize with inconsiderate folk like that, so if the chat goes well and ill get one of those post that goes up to stop cars driving it.

Its just very frustrating when its the third time, and the first time I was nice to them.
I can't apologies for the ticket as my husband had to get the train to work as we had no idea who's car it was.

i would block them in and wait for them to come round and ask to move your car and then say is it your car on my drive ,you will have to wait untill the locksmith comes has i have broken the key sorry m8,he cannot come until tomorrow look like your stuck and ask them do they want to borow the phone to ring a taxi ,i bet they will not do it again and if they say they will ram your car say go on then i hope your insured and do you want me to ring the police now to report you for criminal damage and trespass (most poeple do not now it a civil mater)or later
there or their, one day i might us the right one ,until then tuff

This is the best advice there is, buy a length of chain and a padlock and string it across the drive, it will stop them parking and therefore stop the whole issue escalating into a neighbourhood feud.
