I think a basic bank account with someone like Co-op where they offer internet banking with the basic account is all i would really need. I guess it might be nice to have a Debit card that was accepted in more places but so far i have not had a problem with my electron and i see myself being environmentally friendly now by not having a cheque now as i hardly ever used them and if i need to send money to someone i can just pop to the post office and get a postal order.

I want the rest of my life hassle free.

My Cashminder account works perfectly. The card is good but I can't hire a car with it because of "deposit blocking" which the Electron doesn't support. There are a couple of rental companies who will accept a cash deposit instead. You have to plan a little more carefully with an Electron but it's still very useful.

That's all I want too. Big time!

I might be a little unusual as I've lived many years in german speaking countries and am currently working in Switzerland. I moved back to the UK last year with german "buy to let" debts (british "buy-to-letters" be warned!) and HAD to go bankrupt in England as after six months residency in the UK the german courts were no longer responsible. EU law! The advantage is that my UK BR lasts a maximum of 12 months. In Germany 72 months!

With no more debts I feel no pressure to continue living in a rut. I have a swiss bank account (sound good doesn't it!) and a nice rented flat in a leafy suburb. Bought a bike and travel longer distancies on the train. Love life again. A bankruptcy is a real opportunity for change. That's surely the point isn't it? The legal system gives you a second chance. Use it!:j

When a bank acc is opened in spain all they care about is the cash,so no credit checks are done.
My credit score in UK is not just shot its dead,i could not afford to come back, and with the financial climit as it is i could never servive,
I feel sorry for people with financial problems at the moment as they have choice but to go BR .I hope you all sort yourselves out.
I am living proof there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
And a good life after going BC,so chin up and smile
