after discharge and 3 months has expired I am on the understanding it drops of the Insolvency register! how does anyone know you have been bankrupt? I know your credit files show it up, but if you move somewhere new and don't link the past is there any way people can find if you have been bankrupt

It's forever in the London Gazette. The Information Commissioner has been asked about this and he ruled that BR should remain public knowledge to "protect the public" it can't be wiped. Insolvency service choose to take it off their website. Sorry to be the harbinger etc.0

The other thing SB is your bc is just that yours. Bc now goes against the persons name not address as it once used to,so moving would be no use.DFree impartial debt advice available from: National Debtline - Tel: 0808 808 4000 | The Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) - Tel: 0800 138 1111 | Find your local Citizens Advice Bureau

I'm sure there are ways of tracing it. If you move and go onto the electoral roll, then I'm think that can be linked to your past address via credit files. It probably will catch up with you eventually.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

SB don't take this as gospel but the way i understand is. 3 mths after discharge date your details are taken off the IS website. On your credit files you have to write to ask them to update your records,if they don't do it automatically, which as far as i know, show all debts(incl in bc) as satisfied.Your credit score is shot though. If you move unless you apply for any form of credit or your new neighbours look in the london gazzete(had no idea about that) then no one will know unless you tell them.
