  • hey dippy everyone who is bankrupt goes on the insolvency website and gets taken of after 3 months as said in earlier posts.........

think the first 2 posts were inacurate......the only way you link your past is if you move financial products from one address to another....so after bankrupcy i you were to totally disconect yourself from your past and terminate everything and start from fresh and never mention the past you would start from scratch....I think!!!!!

Don't think your bankrupcy travels with you, it is registered on your previous address otherwise people with the same name if it were common and same date of birth would show up with you!!!!

It stays on your credit file for 6 years so any financial organiation can see it. Also if asked on forms you have to tell them legally. It stays with you not your address.

Well i have been led to believe it does not go against the address but the person. If there is more than one person called david jones.DOB 13.03 67,then yes they may look at past addesses or other info held.

Seems to be a little confusion here and i think it's me:o :rotfl:

Of course it stays with you! You went BR, not your house!

Anyone can find out almost anything about anyone these days (with the correct information) so if any screwy individuals wanted to find out about you, then they will - eventually. But in essence, no-one will know about your BR unless you tell them.

It also stays on the permanent insolvency register that is often searched by mortgage lenders. Your name will not drop off that one.

Bankruptcy is a matter of public record. It is an offence to not declare it if asked.

  • Fermi.... I didn't ask wether it was right or wrong to admit it, if you read the first post i asked if it would be connected......and my view is that they cannot link your past just through your surname and DOB! if that were the case anyone with a common surname would have problems getting credit, a address must be used to link

All loan applications ask for previous adresses within the last few years. They check the voters register!
