Yes but how often do you need just your name and DOB to get credit. As I said it is on your CRF for 6 years

Are you sure you were declared BR?
  • Fermi.... I didn't ask wether it was right or wrong to admit it, if you read the first post i asked if it would be connected......and my view is that they cannot link your past just through your surname and DOB! if that were the case anyone with a common surname would have problems getting credit, a address must be used to link

I understand what you mean but that is just how they do start to ID check you, they then ask for your current address which if they cant match you too because you are not listed there on your CRA or voters register they will ask for a previous, if they havnt already, if they still cant match you to that they will ask for the address before that, thats if they dont juts decline your application before then.

There is no way to hide from your BR order so to speak if whoever you are applying too does the correct checks that i can see

Edit- once the BR falls of the normal IS site though the only way a normal jo blogs can find it is on the gazzette, and no i couldnt find me either:confused:

So maybe the odd BR doesnt get on there for technical errors or something, or its just that stupid a search system it makes it impossible to find, or maybe the info is entered wrong IE date of birth:confused:
Thats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all …………. :(

All credit applications require previous addresses if you haven't lived at your current address for more than 3 years. Apart from that, other companies register things with the credit reference agencies.. your bank will update your credit file with your address, mobile phone if you have a contract. They have ways or tracing you! My credit file has my ex bf's address (which I never lived at - just had something delivered there) and my work address as linked addresses. They would find you!

As already stated you'll find yourself listed in the London Gazette via a search following the link provided by Merry Gentry (as I have).

It does leave one feeling a little exposed but you'll learn to live with it, particularly given that its unlikely a 'layman' would want to look at the London Gazette, but those in the know will quickly be able to ascertain whats what re your financial affairs. This I'm afraid is one of the prices we have to pay for taking this course of action.

It's all well and good southernbuoy as long as you're never in a situation where you have to give your previous address, which invariably you will have to.

Just to move to the new location the letting agent will ask where you have been living for the last 3 years, and bang there you go, your new address will immediatley be linked to your old.

In theory it's possible, but in reality pretty difficult if you want any sort of life without constantly looking over your shoulder and avoiding any sort of application form.

Opps, didn't realise there was page 2, with Cherly and BAAB saying what I just sai'
