WRONG........I don't sell to NI, and when I last did I charged less than that.

So stop trying to cause trouble.

But you clearly don't know what I'm saying. A 'no need to turn' mattress is not a one-sided mattress. You have the option to turn it if you wish because it is double-sided. A 'non-turn' mattress is one-sided, and cannot be turned.

Please don't be so patronising. You may sell beds for a living but there are plenty of contributors to this board capable of researching and thinking for themselves; therefore unlikely to fall for hype - including yours.

Yes I do know what you are saying.

They can get away with saying 'no need to turn' for a single sided mattress because there is no need to turn it. They don't have to say 'non turn' or even 'can't turn'.

I'm trying not to be patronising, but you keep repeating the same thing, but I'm telling you how it is in the bed trade (not how it should be). The bed industry (as well as probably many other industries), do play on words in order to misslead people. I agree that it should be the way you explained it, but unfortunately it isn't.

Hi everyone, I've just stumbled across this forum in my bid to hunt down a new mattress (to replace the £500 bed I bought last year which has already started to feel rather uncomfortable!) - having almost forgotten what a good nights sleep feels like I've realised the hard way just how important it is to get a good mattress and was hoping that someone more clued up then myself might be able to help me with my next choice? I really like the feel of the beds I sleep in when I stay at 5 star hotels; would anybody be able to advise what kind of mattresses are used in these hotels and if there is a specific company that makes these mattresses to the same standard as the ones in the hotel?

I'm afraid it's difficult to narrow it down from what you have told us. The mattresses will be contract mattresses which means that they will be made to higher fire regulations (CRIB 5). However most manufacturers make CRIB 5 mattresses, but not all make high standard ones.

If it was a 5* hotel, then It would most likely be a top end open coil sprung mattress or a pocket sprung one.
  • Could someone please explain what the unpack date is for on vacuum packed memory foam mattresses. Does it damage them or something if they remain vacuum packed for too long? Thanx.

    What make is the mattress?
  • It is a visco-pro mattress
  • I am a beds buyer, it depends on how much you have to spend you need to spend the most you ca afford, and be able to try it first. Vi spring and Relyon are good bands, you should go for the softest mattress you can take to protect your back.

    Who told you all that?

That's the sort of rubbish they tell you in bed shops when they just want you to spend more money.
