The Jubilee is the newer of the Kozee brothers, so wouldn't recommend that one but the Restus looks good, although can't find what guage it is. Maybe Tim (who sells them) would know?

Actually the Jubilee is made by the original Kozeesleep. Restus is also the same company, and the Chicago is more or less the same as the Jubilee. It is medium.
  • What does medium guage mean please? Is that good or bad?

Medium firmness btw, not medium gauge, although it is more or less the same thing.

does anyone have any comments on this bed please?

went looking the other day at an independent store and told the salesman I wanted a turnable mattress with memory foam both sides. After he had finished sniggering he said that such a thing doesn't exist, and that mattresses are so advanced these days that they don't need to be turned . Anyone know if the above mattress is any good and is non-turn?

Hello Tim, thanks for your advice on this thread, I've read with interest.

I wonder if you could recommend me a king size bed and pocket sprung mattress £300-400 for both bed and mattress, medium or medium-firm please?

As a guide, the feel we liked so far was Silentnight Ortho Dream, but bizarrley not the Ortho Supreme.

For a start dont go near Silentnight. Do a forum search on them and you'll see why:rolleyes:

In concordance with the forum rules and especially after some people have accused Tim of self-promotion (all fabricated), it would be better if you could post as link to the product you are interested in and then he can advise, rather than make his own suggestion.

Silly, I know, but rather that than enflame the small minority into another verbal tirade!

Tim supplies Restus mattresses so im sure he will know whether this one is turn or non-turn, and what quality it would be. Utter nonsense what the saleman said about being no such thing  why say that? It gives all bed salesmen a bad reputation...

Hi i noted the Silentnight abuse, I just mentioned the one I sat on as it was the best I could find in the local shops. I'm pretty sure it was this one http://www.silentnight.co.uk/product.aspx?pageid=220&pgroupid=33&prodid=97 but i'm not going to go for it, just want something similar but of good quality.

Whatever you do DON'T use an electric blanket with memory foam.

Memory foam reacts to your body heat in order to soften and mould to your body. It also needs the memory foam not in contact with your body to be cooler, and in turn firmer. This is how the memory foam gives you support.

If the memory foam was heated up before you get into bed, then you will just flatten it when you get into bed, and you will sink the full depth of the memory foam.

But the foam must adjust itself when you turn over in bed, or it couldn't continue to give the proper support, so why can it not adjust when you switch off an electric blanket and get into bed i.e. when the parts not in contact with the body cool down again?
