Who nominated you? Someone called DollyHays with only 1post?! ;)

Positive and helpful are two words i'd not associate you with on here...

You apologised because I left you no choice, but you accuse other people who make the same statements as me as being competitors too,I have seen you do it many times before.

Yes,just because you say " i sold him a mattress and it wasn't mine " doesn't prove anything-and judging by the pms i have received so far, neither do other people believe you.

I apologised because I realised that I had made a mistake.....no other reason.

When people come on here and try to break MSE rules, and I spot them, then I will point them out, as most people will. If they are on here just to be helpful, then I'm not going to complain am I.

I have actually helped 1000's of people on here to make an educated choice, rather than from the complete rubbish they are often told in bed stores.

Are you so selfish that you can't believe that anyone else could possibly be on here to help people rather than for personal gain?

I have also been giving advice on a Northern Ireland board, but I don't sell there, so how is that for personal gain????

Just a small observation from someone who has been looking to buy a mattress for a few weeks so I have been "lurking" for advice on mse and some other forums - I dont think its especially useful when there is one person on a forum who effectively runs the the thread and sees themselves as the thread expert.
I have seen it happen on a few other subjects and whilst one person may be a good source of advice for some there are lots of others who have recently purchased or looking to purchase who may also add something but feel they cant as the "expert" may put them down.

Not bothered about being put down myself I have to say but lots of others may be;) ;)
'Tis a fair point, but when someone does have lots of 'insider' and useful info about such an important item (considering we spend a third of our lives on mattress), you cant discount their advice just because he's the only voice on here giving it out!

That's why I took his advice myself and used it to make an educated decision about a mattress that I could try for myself in a showroom, and happened to bump into an old friend who did me a deal and got the sale.

Had I come across this forum 3years ago, I could have saved myself £300, a bad back and quite a few phone calls about warrenty that came to nothing.

That's not to say that Tim's verdict is 'gospel' (excuse the pun!), but its still good advice surely?!

Well, seeing as as you brought it up,in a thread started on Moneysavers Arms called "Exchange of compliments" asking people to name posters they admired-someone nominated me there for my " always having a positive and helpful post",and that's a board I hardly ever go on.

All I have seen from you is negative posts

(At this point,in the past, this is where other posters suddenly appear to say "what a jolly good chap " Tim is-) ,well I and many others are not fooled .

I'm obviously never going to convince you, but I can 100% honestly say that I have never either asked someone to come on here and give me praise, nor have I don't it under a different name (wouldn't MSE pick that up as being the same IP address anyway?).

If people have gome on here with one off posts it is probably because like most people they normally just read the posts rather than contribute. But they don't like the way people like you and a couple of others only come on here to personally abuse me.

You have also got a habit of questioning people who have already bought items (who you see as challenging your knowledge ) and told them they have bought rubbish.

I think that is ignorant and unprofessional ,fortunately you have not done this to me (before you try that much-used arguament of yours!!)

As for the Northern Ireland board, well, you are mistaking me for someone who believes your arguaments.

We all do things on here that are not for personal gain.I have sent people vouchers they needed etc,but I did not come on here after telling of how magnanimous I am.

I actually agree with you. The reason I started posting on here was because someone had put a link to my site on here because they had bought from me before. My web statistics program shows me how people have found my site, so I followed the link back to the forums. Then after reading loads of posts I realised how much rubbish people are told by sales reps in bed stores.

I know this will probably never make me a millionaire, but I have been brought up to believe that honesty is the best policy (no I'm not part of TiTheRev's bible class, in fact I'm not religous). I get satisfaction in making sure people do know the truth, and then if they do buy from me I can sleep soundly (excuse the pun), knowing that they have made the right choice, rather than one that was dictated by sales gimmicks and hype.

So if there is anyone out there who is an expert on beds, and will tell the truth rather than use the many gimmicks in the bed industry, then I would welcome them into the forums with open arms.........maybe it would take some of the pressure off me.

yada yada yada...you have said this soo many times before-its still not convincing.

What about the ones who don't sleep soundly after you have told them they have bought rubbish-does that give you a warm glow?

"If there is someone else who will tell the truth.." -you mean the truth as seen by you.
"Take some of the pressure off you",try switching off the on/off button.Get over yourself!!

Is there any point going over this again and again, people like myself have two options, we can listen to advice from Tim and make an informed choice or we can listen to the doubters and be cautious about the advice given.

Either way we have to make up our own minds, were all quite capable of doing it and having an online slanging match really isn't helping anybody is it? So maybe its best to leave it now so those of us who would like advice can get it and those who suspect something dodgy can ignore it and get on with their lives.

just a thought.... so back on to my mattress....
