I'm looking for decent double mattress, seen the following: http://www.mattressman.co.uk/hypnos/mattresses/mattresses/double/P270S3518/silver.aspx any comments on this? Or alternatives? Not heard of Hypnos brand googling seems to suggest a family run biz.
thanks.
Hypnos are actually a large company, and as far as I know they are one of the few large bed companies who haven't reduced their quality.....YET.
So I was reading through the listing, and starting to think that it looked like quite a good mattress, until I came to:- This is a "No Need to Turn" Mattress.

Tim, thanks for your advice!
Was wondering if you could give me your opinion on these mattresses

They are pocket sprung with memory foam at what seems like a good price?
Cheers,

The first one I am very suspicous about. To start with the seller says that their in store price is £429, and that it is his best selling mattress. So why sell it for £280 on ebay??
Most on line bed companies who sell beds at low prices can do so because they don't have the overheads of running a shop. So I suspect that this seller gets the mattresses very very cheap, which leads me to think that they are made from low quality products.
Also how come they sellthe normally cheaper reflex/memory foam mattress for more money?
And why won't he say who makes the mattress?
The second one is the Restus Memory Pocket, which I was dissapointed to find only has 55kg per m3 memory foam.
Both of the mattresses are also non turn.
Out of the two I'd go for the Restus, as you can rely on good quality with them.0 -

I'd look for a company who would let you return it if you don't like it though.
Hello Tim,
Thanks for helping. Just wanted to clarify, the Caversham. Mynext mattress and Furniture123 both list this a medium firm but you have it as medium. I'm confused now! Any advice?0 -

Furniture 123 don't say how firm it is.
Kozeesleep actually told me that it is medium, so I take their word for it.0 -

Thanks Tim, I dont think you can get more definitive than that! Back to the drawing board - so confusing! Starting to look like the pocketmaster.0 -

£110 should buy you a top of the range open coil sprung mattress.
Thanks Tim. This is the mattress I initially ordered. Should I have gone with this? I can't re-order right now as they do not have any stock but I could look for the same if you think it is good.

Hi everyone,
I have somehow managed to persuade my landlord to buy a new mattress for my house after two years of being uncomfortable so feeling excited but slightly confused. I have read through this thread and have some idea of what I should be going for but would just like a little more help. I have a Myers Divan base that still seems to be solid. From reading through the posts I would like to get a pocketsprung mattress but budget is £200-250. Are the following any good or would I be better off looking at other types of mattress? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
