Which mattress? (merged threads)

The mattress will be pocket sprung 1000 (minimum) with memory foam one side (La romantica lovell is a possibility) so would I lay a peg board on just a slatted base or sprung slats also (would that not stop the sprung slats from doing their job?)
Has anyone recently got the La ROMANTICA Lovell?
Could you please write me a review?0 -
I am about to put my 2 1/2 year old in a bed and wondered whether it was worth buying a pocket sprung mattress. I'm happy to buy it, if that is what is recommended.0

Hi Tim (or anyone else that can help) we desperately need a new mattress as our current one is ruined by our 2 DS using it as a trampoline! We have a metal bedstead with wooden slats – are there any restrictions on the type of mattress we can get, or what are the best ones for this type of base? Any advice is greatly appreciated

Hi Tim
I emailed Dreamworks to get a detailled spec on the Richmond mattress.
Their response;
Thank you for your interest in Dreamworks Beds. As a rule we do not
email out detailed specifications, do you have a particular question
that we may be able to help with?
What particular questions should I ask?
Thanks0 -

It isn't worth spending out on a pocket sprung mattress for a toddler for two main reasons:- A toddler wouldn't be heavy enough to compress the springs enough to benefit from them contouring to their body.
- Pocket springs are quite fragile, so they would be better off with open coil sprung mattresses until they get past the bouncing on the bed stage.

There should be no reason that they wouldn't give out the spec, unless they were trying to hide the fact that it was a poor spec mattress.
You wouldn't spend a lot of money on anything unless you knew what you were getting.
Tell them that your particular question is that you want a detailed spec so that you can compare it to other mattresses.0 -
Tim, can you tell me if pocket sprung mattresses are the same for Electric Beds as on a normal pocket sprung bed.0
