I was wondering if I have asked something stupid and that is why nobody has helped me? I really need to buy this mattress soon so could someone just reply so that I know if I was just overlooked or what.
Thanks, I hope!

This was my original post.....
I have been reading my way through the posts here for a few weeks now and have come to the conclusion that mattresses are mostly individual choice, but I definitely need some help making that decision.
I want a double mattress to go on a metal bed with wide spaced slats (I will buy a board to put on top of these)
My mattress now is way to hard for me. Great for my husband as he is built like a pole, but I need a bit of give! I don't want anything too soft as I also need support and am used to the plank mattress we now have!
I will be sharing the bed with my daughter who is 18 months, to get her used to sleeping in a bed in the right room, but will be bed hopping from there to my own room!
I spent the day in John Lewis laying on various mattresses but they all felt too soft and cosy. Our Mattress is cold and firm and I like the coolness of it (no memory foam for me!) All of these were warm and soft and bouncy.
I have looked at a few and I wonder if could tell me if they are good brands, too soft/hard and which you think is best?
Kozeesleep Caversham
Simmons Bedstead 1000 Mattress (one site says firm, another medium?)
Pocketmaster 1000
Is there another manufacturer anyone can recommend. I don't really know any small independent manufacturers. I don't want to spend more than £350 as It will eventually be my daughter's bed.
Can anyone help?

I hear Kozeesleep is better than Simmons but I haven't experienced either myself. The Pocket Master is the low end of the Kozeesleep line.
Only you could know whether the firmness was acceptable but the Regency looks like it ticks the right boxes.0 -

No Lorraine, you haven't said anything stupid, it's just that there are some questions that some regular contributors aren't allowed to answer.0 -

Are you allowed to comment on particular mattresses though? Could you say which if any of these are any good? Which you think is a good buy?
Thanks0 -

I'm afraid not. I can answer general questions on designs and specifications.0 -

All goods should have a design life. So even if the actual guarantee is 12 months, the manufacturer should still pay towards the cost of replacement within the design life. This is usually done on a sliding scale.
It is more likely to be the reflex foam that has gone soft rather than the memory foam. However the reflex foam supports the memory foam on top, so appearances my be misleading.
Hi Tim
Finally agreed with sleepmaster to send an 'independent' inspection which they are paying for. Can you please give me any advise on how to deal with this? I had an 'independent inspection' a year ago, and the inspector said he could see what I was complaining about but he felt this was normal settling and within tolerances.#
As the mattress is sooo uncomfortable, we are now sleeping on the foam underside of the mattress, and I am not sure what effect 'positive or negative' this would have on the memory foam side - please advise?0
