Oh dear.....you have probably realised from reading this thread that Rest Assured are part of the Silentnight Group.
I think you may just have to bite the bullet and replace the mattresses.
With the exception of some manufacturers making beds and mattressses is one thing that we are still best at in the UK. However, depending on where you are in Spain, there is a chain of bed stores sellig british made beds: http://www.bobthebed.com/
One of the brands they do sell is Sealy who are also part of the Silentnight group, so it's probably best to go for the other brands.0 -
Hi Tim,
I have been reading your posts on mattresses and have found this one in size that may fit the bill however I am worried that in my inexperience I may end up with something that isn't good quality and value! It's a Joseph mattress...

I don't know if this falls into your small supplier catergory or not so would be really grateful if I could have your opinion on it??!
thanks
Hi,
Has anyone bought a Joseph mattress or have any advice on if this is a good deal?

You would need to find out the depth and the density of the memory foam to have any idea if it is worth getting. You do often find that there is a reason why any sprcifications aren't mentioned.0 -

It is 2.5" if this is the same one...

and on the same site it states the density as 4lb, whatever that means - http://www.sleeplandbeds.co.uk/Joseph-Eclipse-Mattress-Pocket-Spring-Memory-foam-mattress-small-double-mattress_AKHZN.aspx0

I'm not 100% sure of the conversion. They only us lb's in America. In the UK they use kg's per m3. The only reason to use lbs would be to confuse. From memory I think 5lbs equates to somewhere around 60 to 70kg. So 4lb sounds like very low density.
Why don't you phone them and ask?0 -

Hi,
Ok phoned them and apparently it has a 5lb density which is soft but offers great support (their words!) the top is visco elastic memory foam (2.5") then there is reflex and then the pocket springs. It's a no turn mattress. Apparently the visco elastic memory foam came top in a which report.0 -

And who was it told you all that rubbish?
It says on a couple of sites that the density is 4lb. If they say that 5lb is soft then 4lb isn't worth having, because it wouldn't give you any support at all.
What did they mean by "the visco elastic memory foam came top in a which report"? Did they mean that they use the same suppliers of memory foam as many bed manufacturers in the UK (either Kaymed or Vitafoam)?
Sounds like another retailer trying to fill your head with what they think you want to hear just to get a sale.0 -
