    Thanks for the reply Tim.

I have purchased this mattress but am unable to find out the density of the memory foam. I have a put a link on it below and was wondering if you had any comments on it.

    Many thanks

It is the cheaper reflex foam encapsulated pocket sprung type which usually have smaller than normal pocket springs, and it is non turn. As far as the depth and density of the the memory foam you should ask them in Bensons.

Some of the big chain stores deliberately give you very little information on the spec so you can't compare it to similar products.

I have asked Bensons but they couldnt tell me what the density was and suggested I speak direct to Relyon. There was options of 40mm, 50mm and 70mm thick mattresses but I have plumped for the 50mm one on what has been suggested on here.

are you saying this bed is not memory foam but instead reflex foam? Reylon's 'reactaform memory foam ' is actually only reflex foam?

It's just unfortunate that you have to use Bensons, as they only seem to have poor product at inflated prices :o

He is meaning that the springs inside the mattress are encapsulated in reflex foam, not that the mattress is not memory foam. It's a cheaper way of using smaller springs and some foam to give the same 'effect', but not actually being as supportive or lasting as long.

Density and thickness are 2 different things. The 40mm, etc is the thickness. Density is described as V60 etc.

It just goes to show how little the staff in many big chains actually know about the products they sell. You would think that to give you good customer service they would have at least called Relyon to ask for you.

No not at all. There are proper pocket sprung/memory foam mattresses, which use full size pocket springs that are tied to the fabric on the sides of the mattress, and are usually hand tufted.

Then there are the cheaper type where they use much smaller springs, and use reflex foam around the outside to support the springs. This type don't give anywhere near the same support, and are just jumping onto the pocketsprung/memory foam band wagon. They do still have memory foam on top though.

Timmy Magic was actually answering my question, and saying that he knows the depth but not the density.
