this shop is fairly local to us, limited info online though
The inner springs are just another gimmick.0 -
Harrison & Myers are at the larger end of the independant mattress amnufacturers but you will still get good quality. Do not bother with Sealy or Silentnight fullstop, they are both part of the same company and quality has free-falled in preference of profit.
Definately worth a look, and they may be able to get more variety if you enquire?
Harrison and Myers are actually part of a huge international group, and are not independent at all.0 -
Has anyone had experience of using costco to purchase a mattress and the delivery service they offer? (Specifically the Chester Branch)
Is is free, if not what are their charges like?
Thanks
Andy
Costco sell Silentnight, Sealy and Rest Assured, who are all the same company. Try doing a forum search on MSE and you will see the answer to your question.0 -

I have also noticed that comparing a Madrid with a Venice (I realise they both have foam aswell) the one with only 1000 springs- Madrid is rated medium to firm which I prefer whilst the bed with 1500 springs is soft to medium? Perhaps a Kozeesleep pocket master may be a better bet (1100 springs) or wouldn't it make much difference?
Tell you what, figuring out what mattress to buy is causing more restless nights than the old mattress!
By the way, I will be putting hardboard or pegboard over the slats. thanks for the advice.
1000 to 1800 springs is the best range to stay within.0 -
Timmy_Magic wrote: »Hi I'm new to the forum and need some advice please on a memory foam mattress I have just purchased.
The mattress is from Bensons Beds and is a Relyon Advanced 1000 memory foam king size mattress (with 40mm depth of memory foam)
However, I see that for an extra £30 I can get the Advanced 1440 memory foam mattress (with 70mm depth of memory foam). So what I am asking is if it is worth going for the Advanced 1440 one?
I suffer from back problems so thought memory foam was the best option. However, my wife tends to get a bit hot during the night and I have seen that the extra depth in the foam makes it even hotter.
What is the optimum depth for these memory foam mattresses or isn't there? Any advice please would be really appreciated.
Thanks
The optimum depth is 2" (50mm), and no more than 2.5" (63mm).0 -

Hello again,
After a bit more research I cannot seem to find a double mattress within my budget of £300 with the following criteria:
1000+ pocket sprung
2" minimum memory foam both sides (turnable)
I have found La romantica Madrid - but this is £415.00
Kozeesleep Max pocket £376.00 (non turn and 3" of memory - too deep?)
Restus Excellsior £298.00 (but this one is non turn)
Should I compromise and get the non turn to save around £100 quid or will it cost me in the long term?
All advice welcome! Povster:rotfl:0 -

A non turm mattress won't last anywhere near as long as a 2 sided one.
The Excellsior is the cheaper reflex foam encapsulated pocket sprung type, which contains much smaller pocket springs, so won't give as good support.0
