Which mattress? (merged threads)

This is my first post on the forum so hello to all!
We have just purchased this bedstead:
http://www.harveysfurniture.co.uk/ProductDetail.aspx?sID=984
We now need to buy a mattress to go with it! This is proving to be very difficult and I am now totally confused after looking at some of the previous threads! I understand that I need to go for a pocket sprung/memory foam mattress that is double sided so it can be turned. What are your views on the following mattresses?:

Hopefully these mattresses are the makes that are recommended and the spec that is also recommended. I had a try of the last one yesterday and it was very nice but is more expensive than the other two.
I appreciate that you have proably been asked the same thing over and over again! If you can recommend any other makes or sites to look at then I would be really grateful. Its proving difficult finding the time to look at all these websites and play with my toddler!!
Thanks very much for your help

Of those mattresses listed, the Bensons one is 'non-turn' so will be halved in longevity though. Good quality, spring counts etc on the others though. The Madrid has been recommended on here more than once!:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things. Very true. So ideally 50-60mm is best, thus making neither 40 or 70 ideal
you also need to bear in mind the density which I believe needs to be around 60 to 70kg per m3? No point getting it the right thickness but being like a sponge providing no support
There is one that is the Advanced 1250 which has 50mm depth of memory foam but I have no idea of the density?

You usually have to ask about that kind of information, but any decent firm would know and be willing to share the information. The Bensons one you have the link to is another 'Non-turn' which is just a sales gimmick to use less materials and make the bed last half as long by not being able to spread the wear if you are turning it.:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things. Looks like you're on the right page, and know what is good/bad about a mattress :money:

Fair enough, so at the end of the day I have already bought the 40mm one but have the option of changing it to either the 50mm or 70mm one. So on the basis that 2 to 2.5 inches is best then its either the 50mm or 70mm????
Hmmm.......which one???0 -
50 would be better, as the 70mm one could be too deep and thus warm as it may hug the body too much, especially if the wife can get too hot at night.:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things. Do you have a link for either the 50 or 70?

70mm

Both are non-turn, so not ideal, and at nearly £600  a bit pricey! Can you get your money back, as you'd be able to get a better quality mattress, with double sided memory foam to last longer at the right thickness and density, for almost half that price!?

Unfortunately, yes we do need to use Bensons as we need to use the interest free deal they have on offer. So it seems like the 50mm is the one to have. Thanks very much for your help it is very appreciated. :T
I suppose I just need to find out the density of it to be totally sure.0
