The original post was asking about their delivery service with specific reference to a mattress, I think I can decide on which particular item suits my needs without you criticising which supplier I use.Signature No Longer acceptable -

Apologies if it seemed critical, I was merely trying to help advise on mattress selection
it's a big decision considering you spend 1/3 of your life on it, just hoping to help but if you're happy using Costco I'm sorry, I just thought it might be a price issue, and you can get good quality mattresses at very reasonable prices online these days...

For me, Ikea have too many fingers in too many pies to be able to produce quality beds. The Charlotte bed is one I considered after a few recommendations myself so would easily recommend it myself over the Ikea version.
What gap do the slats have between them? More than 2/3" and you'll need to add some slats or put some peg board down to stop the pocket springs pushing through...
Tell you what, figuring out what mattress to buy is causing more restless nights than the old mattress!
By the way, I will be putting hardboard or pegboard over the slats. thanks for the advice.0 -

My other concern would be that you may have problems if the mattress develops a fault as it appears that Dorlus may be going bust (again).
Hi Tim, thank you for your comment. unfortunately I feel very anxious about going back to the supplier about this mattress, just no good at bargaining etc. I have spent ages online looking for other companies to remove the old mattress and can't find any locally that will. so feel like Im between rock and hard place. May build up enough strength to call them tomos and try to haggle a bit.
Thanks again for your input:hello:0 -

I have also noticed that comparing a Madrid with a Venice (I realise they both have foam aswell) the one with only 1000 springs- Madrid is rated medium to firm which I prefer whilst the bed with 1500 springs is soft to medium? Perhaps a Kozeesleep pocket master may be a better bet (1100 springs) or wouldn't it make much difference?

Pegboard over the slats you have would be fine and relatively cheap too.:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things. Has anyone had experience of using costco to purchase a mattress and the delivery service they offer? (Specifically the Chester Branch)
Is is free, if not what are their charges like?
Thanks

This is my first post on the forum so hello to all!
We have just purchased this bedstead:
http://www.harveysfurniture.co.uk/ProductDetail.aspx?sID=984
We now need to buy a mattress to go with it! This is proving to be very difficult and I am now totally confused after looking at some of the previous threads! I understand that I need to go for a pocket sprung/memory foam mattress that is double sided so it can be turned. What are your views on the following mattresses?:
http://www.bedlum-beds.co.uk/product/LA-ROMANTICA-Madrid-Memory-Foam-and-Pocket-Sprung-King-Size-Mattress.-439.00/
http://www.bedlum-beds.co.uk/product/La-ROMANTICA-Venice-(was-Eros)-Memory-Foam-and-Pocket-Sprung-King-Size-Mattress-499.00/
http://www.bensonsforbeds.co.uk/Mattresses/King/Memory_Foam_Advanced_1440_Kingsize_Mattress;608.aspx
Hopefully these mattresses are the makes that are recommended and the spec that is also recommended. I had a try of the last one yesterday and it was very nice but is more expensive than the other two.
I appreciate that you have proably been asked the same thing over and over again! If you can recommend any other makes or sites to look at then I would be really grateful. Its proving difficult finding the time to look at all these websites and play with my toddler!!
Thanks very much for your help

Hi I'm new to the forum and need some advice please on a memory foam mattress I have just purchased.
The mattress is from Bensons Beds and is a Relyon Advanced 1000 memory foam king size mattress (with 40mm depth of memory foam)
However, I see that for an extra £30 I can get the Advanced 1440 memory foam mattress (with 70mm depth of memory foam). So what I am asking is if it is worth going for the Advanced 1440 one?
I suffer from back problems so thought memory foam was the best option. However, my wife tends to get a bit hot during the night and I have seen that the extra depth in the foam makes it even hotter.
What is the optimum depth for these memory foam mattresses or isn't there? Any advice please would be really appreciated.
Thanks0 -
Apparently the optimum thickness for memory foam is 2 inches, to a max of 2 and a half inches. good luck, I am off out bed shopping again in a minute, argh!0

you also need to bear in mind the density which I believe needs to be around 60 to 70kg per m3? No point getting it the right thickness but being like a sponge providing no support
