You are paying way over the top for the name if you buy Kaymed. As I said previously it is the same foam bought from Kaymed in many of the less well known brands on the market.
Thanks, would the la romantica (madrid or venice) be the same foam and mattress quality as the kaymed? i've also been told that kaymed only make the pocket sprung bases and that this mattress would be very hard on a platform top. Do you know why they vary to the other brands in this way?
thanks again....0 -
just looked at these as dd needs a new mattress and they do seem cheap BUT the reflex one i looked at, it is just a piece of foam with a cover on? Can anyone else reccomend a good cheap single mattress if this is the case..many thanks x0

....Or if not in the La Romantica beds, would you be allowed to say which brands are similar quality and feel to Kaymed?
thank you Tim...0 -

Also I notice it says "For hygiene reasons we cannot accept the return of a mattress after packaging has been opened, unless it is faulty."
Hi Tim, this gets more confusing the further you go lol. we have tried so many beds and the beds of the £400 bracket just dont feel comfy they just dont seem to have the same feel. What would you compare the vi spring with? another one we tried in JL was a pocket premier 2 (own branded) link here but to be honest I did not find this as comfortable. HEEEEELLLLLLPPPPP!!!!! :rudolf:0 -
What mattress could go on a bed with wooden slats and which mattress could go on a bed with sprung slats? Could you clarify please.0

Sorry but I need to step in again.
The type of slatts doesn't matter, it's the gaps between them that makes the difference.
An open coil sprung mattress is ok with gaps of up to 4 or 5".
A pocket sprung mattress can only cope with gaps of about 1". However if the pocket sprung mattress also has memory foam on both sides, then it will be OK with gaps of up to 3" as the memory foam will spread the weight out over the slats.0 -
It depends on the gap between the slats in either case. More than 3" gap is not ideal for most beds, but any less and they should all be ok! If you have more than 3" between slats then a pocket sprung or memory foam/pocket sprung bed would need extra support and you need to either fill the gaps or buy some pegboard as the spring inside the mattress may eventually press through the unsupported gaps. What type mattress were you looking to put on there?
Thanks TiTheRev for the prompt reply. Something with memory foam. Budget of £300 - 400. I need medium to medium firm. Gap between slats about 2 1/2 inches. Need mattresses for two beds, one with wooden slats the other with sprung slats.0 -

At that budget, and with those gaps you would be better off going for open coil sprung with memory foam.0 -
Is that £300-400 each or for both?:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things.
