Which mattress? (merged threads)

Hi All.
Has anyone on here bought the Ashbourne 1200 Memory Double mattress or Double Divan set from Argos?
(Made by Airsprung). # 667/8474 (Appears Carlton or another bed may be illustrated).
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/6678474/Trail/searchtext>DIVAN+BEDS.htm
Or have any experience of, or able to give me any information on this mattress please?
(Or perhaps may be more expedient to say the mattress thingy that goes on the base thingy!).
It is coil sprung, tufted, and has memory foam fitted both sides, so being double sided and turn able.
A feature which even though not too common, would appear to be a highly sought after and is highly extolled in certain quarters on here it seems.
It is at a reduced price at present at Argos, as is the 2 drawer double divan (Platform base and mattress). Which is actually cheaper at £377.99 (£122 off) than the Non storage/no drawers option (no reduction nor 4 drawer). Double mattress is £287.77 ("Save £72.00").
Price reduction only until end of today (10 pm). Although going on other recent sale bed prices, it will likely revert back down again after a few days.
As will be evident, I do not have any first hand experience of this Yet. Nor am privy to any 'expert' opinions or advice.
Although it would not surprise me to find it deemed to be 'rubbish'.
However, in the absence of receiving any help or advice to my queries.
I have gone ahead and ordered anyway, to try out before it is too late and price increases. (I have to exchange or return previous purchase to a deadline in any event).Hey O, Listen What I Say O.0 -

If you want a reasonable deal, try a local bed emporium (not Dreams), and I would suggest probably a high spec open coil mattress would be in budget.
Brands that have been recommended on here, and agreed to be better quality than most are; Staples/Myers, Restus, Harrison, Relyon and Kozeesleep. Maybe try looking for a supplier of these local to you and try one?!:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things. Or better than all those mentioned above would be to go for a smaller independent manufacturer, as you tend to get far more for your money. Also they are more likely to still hand make the beds, and won't use automated production methods in order to cut costs.0

The only reason you are recommending Sealy is because you know I advise against them. As you well know they are the same company as Silentnight, and you also know that there have been loads of posts from people slating them.
You actually know nothing about beds, but only come on here to cause trouble. You have been warned by MSE under another name to stop causing trouble. So unless you have anything constructive to say then why do you bother coming into this forum?0 -
Oh perfect! I hate my Silentnight Miracoil! I can still cancel, but it was fast delivery and we need one quickly! :eek:sweetnskint wrote: »so annoyed.bought this silentnight memory foam matress from tj hughes.

I've been following the posts on this thread for over a month in order to glean some informed advice on a replacement for a 6 year old Silentnight mattress which has been uncomfortable for the past couple of years. It became so bad about 12 months ago that we had to lay an old duvet directly on top as a makeshift 'topper' which just about made it bearable.
