    Hi Tim
Thanks for answering. The mattress it came with is foam with a memory foam bit on top. It sits on a canvas thing that is stretched tight across the frame and held with small springs at the edges, it's not a sprung base or anything. Hope that makes sense! Here is the link:

UK sizes and continental sizes are different. For example a UK king size is 5' x 6'6", but a continental king size is 5'3" x 6'6". These are mattress sizes, not external bed sizes.

Someone did once mention that Ikea were now making UK size beds. Does anyone know if this is true?

So it's a bit like the old type sun loungers then?

How deep was the original mattress?

......I called the seller and they said it's not meant to be used every night, I explained that they had told me that it was on the phone, hence the reason I ordered it.
I am already having problems with it anyway as it arrived scuffed and dirty (it is meant to be a brand new one from the manufacturer) and the sellers have agreed to replace it, but in light of it being so uncomfy I really don't want another one. quote]

    Hi.
If as you say, that you do not wish to keep the sofa bed and you placed your order by phone or online, and your complaint about the damage and unsuitability with the misleading description of the sofa was made within seven days of delivery.

Then, in case may be of any help,
I believe If I am correct, that you should be likely entitled to a full refund under the DSR (Distant Selling Regulations).
And not be out of pocket by the way of delivery or return charges etc.

Although foreseeably this right may possibly be open to abuse by some suppliers.

Yes Tim it is like the old sunloungers. The original mattress it came with is the only one I have, it's 6cm deep in total and 2.5 of that is the memory foam part. It's just not comfy at all. I will be using my aeorbed tonight I think!

Quark GB thanks, they do say on the website that they will accept returns within a week of purchase (which this is) but on special order items they charge 30% and return costs are met by customer. I am wondering what the situation is when the items are faulty though yes. I will look into the DSR terms.

To be honest I'd say it is only designed for occasional use.

If it was scuffed and dirty then it is faulty. So they must let you retuen it free of charge.

There is no way that a 6cm deep mattress would be for every day use. The memory foam is only there for a gimmick as it isn't deep enough at 1". It ideally should be 2" deep with at least 5" of reflex foam underneath it.

Sorry to hear there seem to be complications with regard to "special order" items. I'm no expert, but unless it specifically made to your specification or order, that could likely be a cop out. In any event if the goods are faulty and/or not as described, then I would have thought they are liable.
However, unfortunately it seems you may have to seek advice from the OFT if you are still getting hassle.
