hi - can I join in too - I'm due to start an OU course in Feb, AA100, I'm currently studying A178 leonardo da Vinci and I'm having a nightmare with it, I'm by no means thick but but I can't work out how to put in the references etc, and I feel like crying this evening - can anyone offer me any advice/books/websites to have a look at to help me? I've got my 1200 work TMA due in 2 weeks time for this course and the topic is so vague I feel like giving up!

Have you looked at the Bibliograhy and referencing section of the Assessment Guide for the course?

How easy is it to swap courses?? I've just started M150 and I don't think I like it....could I swap to something else?

IIRC you can swap within the first 45(?) days and get your full course fee back as a credit towards another course, after that for a certain time you get 50% back.

I'll check and find the relevant page for you. I did this and swapped from DD100 to........ M150! What is it about the course you don't like, if I may ask?

    ETA:

    It's 21 days for a full refund.

The only link I can find is here, but it doesn't say exact timescales for credits. When I changed courses I just used the 'contact us' link on the main website and explained the situation - they were very helpful.

  • I just don't think I would enjoy the course and I don't really know why I chose it TBH!! I'll have another look today at the material and make a decision later. Thanks for the info.

I'm also starting MST121 in a couple of week, they say you should spend approx 8 per week per 30 point course.

How are you doing with the prep assignment?

So far, so good. No great shakes. Hope it stays that way !

    How you doing ?

Do you normal receive your study calender with the pack of course materials? My course material refers to it but I don't have one
If its a 10 point course with 2 submission dates you need to choose which one you're aiming for & print it off from the OU website.

Nah it's a 30 point and all the TMA dates are in the assessment guide but it also refers to a study calender. I don't have my login details for online yet either - doing this over Christmas was a very bad idea!

  • Hi all

Please can I join too? I'm starting K225 in Feb 09, and will be registering for D171 starting April 09. I've just applied for my financial support for K225 and am waiting for that to be approved. I am newly unemployed, and want to use this time constructively by studying new skills to hopefully gain me a job in my dream environment. I registered late for K225, so my OH kindly paid my fees on his c/c, and he will be refunded when my financial support comes through

I received my study stuff just before Xmas, but I've put it away for now as I'm so tempted to start looking through it, but have other things I need to sort out first!

All being well, I will do DB123 later this year, and then I will look through the prospectus again and choose the mix of courses which best interests me. I'm aiming for an Open Degree so I can control the courses I study

I also have 90 points to transfer from previous study but haven't done anything about that yet! I'm doing things a bit topsy turvy, as first course is level 2, and 2nd course level 1 lol

    I can't wait until Feb 7th though!

Hopefully we can grow this group a bit and support each other through the highs and the lows!

    Hi All

I've been reading up on your thread and glad to see you are all doing well with your courses.

I am signed up to do a masters course starting in May (seems so long away!) and wondered how long before the course the materials were sent out? Also how big are the parcels when they come? Its a 60 point course if that makes any difference.

I'm really keen to get started now but I think I'm jumping the gun a bit :(
