    Well done.
I had 10 years of this, it wasn't drugs. it was booze.
My tooth wasn't broken, it was chipped, buy over the years I've grinded my teeth so much in my sleep that it's virtually disappeared now, just a tiny mark.
Now you've got out, please don't go back.
It will take a couple of years for your spirit to heal, but it will.
And you'll be so strong, emotionally indestructable.
Please don't let him know where you've moved to, keep your lovely family close, your parents are the ones that really love you. The only way you'll let them down is if you go back to a man who hits you.
Take care, wishing you all the best xxx

Fantastic! Started reading the thread, and my advice was gonna be "bin him" - you beat me to it! Well done. Keep us up to date with how you're getting on! Good for you!
  • WELL DONE YOU!!!!

You know you are not the only person in the world to go through this. I had 10 years of a drug user, on and off admittedly, but things became very violent very quickly over the final year or so and I was so convinced there was no way out I learnt to live with it. But in the end things got so bad they couldn't be ignored any longer and someone else called 999 when he was smashing in the UNlocked back door with a hammer shouting 'I'll kill you, you dirty sl*g'. This was over an 'affair' his paranoid mind had made up.

I had to go through women's refuge but he ended up in prison for his violence and drug abuse. That's 13 months ago now and I can't believe what a better person I have become over the last 6 months. And you can do it too.

You deserve to be HAPPY, really, truly HAPPY!!!

Why are you asking us? I think you must be a reasonably intelligent lady so you know what to do. Get rid of him. He is a druggie and is violent and abusive. Do you enjoy it and thrive on it? If not,get rid. If you are a local authority tenant, you can have him chucked out for domestic violence etc. Of course you'd have to make official complaints to the police. Its up to you,put up with it or get rid of him. Is there a shortage of decent men in your neck of the woods?

I think its clear you love him, but with things like this love isnt enough. Do you want your children growing up thinking this is normal, that drugs are okay or for mummy to be hit? If he doesnt want to give up he wont, he has you and the chidlren and that hasnt been enough so far.

You need to be strong, and as they say, you dont know what youve got til its too late so maybe that will make him realise. For your own safety you need to be out of this situation if/when it gets worse.

Dreading the weekend and being afraid to go out is no way to live. Start making a life for you and your children, and when he starts behaving like he is putting you all first and not this awful habit, then maybe, if you then want to, you let him back into your life.

Edit: Well done, I hope this helps you to become stronger and start enjoying life again with your children.
