Mice don't really bother me. We had a cat once who would bring them in at night and leave them in various partly eaten states all over the place - but usually just where you were going to be walking in the dark early in the morning :rotfl::rotfl:. At our last house we had one virtually resident I think. We kept seeing it scuttling away from us. I think it came in at either the flue behind the (unused) gas fire, or the hole where the washing machine outlet pipe was. We did have a small longtail in the house one day (r.a.t. - you can't say the word over here, it's bad luck!!) and I HATE those. I freaked out when it bounded into my DS's bedroom  (he was asleep at the time :eek::eek:). We managed to get rid of it though.

BUT just had British Gas round to check the gas boiler as it was highlighted in the house survey that itn looked like the original boiler and would be approx 25 years old. Any way they have condemned it

JJeff - this is a common tactic with British Gas - they are just after getting more orders themselves - get yourself a second opinion quickly!

Every time they come and service mine - which they themselves installed only 3.5 years ago, they mutter, tut and shake their heads and question. The minute I tell them anything wrong has to be their fault because they installed it, they shut up.

I'd much rather have a mouse than big icky spiders:eek: they totally freak me out! Saying that my cat would freak if she saw a mouse. Sissy.
You should have seen her panic when we had two little bunnies visiting us for a week! lol, wouldn't come out from hiding for ages.:rotfl:

Michelle The mobile sounds like a brilliant idea! Good thinking.:T

We've just been to the boys school to see them recieve their achievement awards, one merit and one excellence. I'm dead proud of them. :j
Afterwards a woman (apparently a teacher the boys have never had) came over to tell me how polite and pleasant DS1 is as she had been sitting beside him during the ceremony.
DS1 looked a bit bewildered and when she left he said he'd only talked to her so why the fuss.
Bless him, don't think he gets the idea that a lot of teenagers are quite awkward and rude.
It was so nice of her to especially seek us out to tell us that. I think I might be the proudest mum at the moment.:o

G&B – the perps trying to get into the flat – that’s awful! And I know how scarey and unsettling it can be. Happened to me once years ago and I ended up getting a couple of beefy blokes to sleep on the couch for a few nights till I felt settled again
Shell, hugs, it’s the old saying – where there’s a will, there’s a relative... as Pigpen said - a pox on them.
Well, did my after work meeting. Did the majority of the weekend food Tesco run. Cooked my dinner and am now pooped.

Only skim read the thread so hugs and congrats to those I missed.

Sleep well ladies - talk to y'all in the morning.

hollyh I hope he's packed his little mousey bags and gone!
ElectraKing oh no not another with 'dormouse syndrome' which is what I've been calling it, hope you're feeling better soon x If your not get yourself to the GP just incase.
Michelle, meeting those who are facing death in the face and giving it their all can really shed a different light on things can't they, I unfortunately meet children like that frequently and they make me stop and think, a lot. You sound a lot more positive which is lovely, but please promise no brave faces and if you need a rant then do so!
jjef sorry to hear you have a poorly boiler, I have no idea how much it costs but would shop around. I remember my Dad got an independant plumber/corgi guy to do his after comparing prices.
germish well done to your boys
soappie pleased to hear you are feeling better
    poohbear, http://www.bbc.co.uk/wales/livinginwales/nameyourhouse/ what about that?
shell, families can be so insensitive sometimes, hope it hasn't upset your Mum too much x

The only way to stop men filling cupboards with junk is to take the doors off!

DP has just remembered his licences are due for work, eek! He's only getting one but £100 more than we'd planned for spending. As they take a few weeks usually we need to order them tomorrow as they are due at the end of the month, argh.

Got a letter home from Ds1s school saying they're on strike Wednesday and Thursday next week (Unison strike) then of course he has to go back Friday then he breaks up for summer holidays. Bang goes every plan I had of getting a lot done next week!!!

I'm just watching the Eastenders rerun then an early night for me, I feel shattered too, there is no point me trying to study late when I am tired as I get nowhere. I'll have to empty the WM and let the dogs out first of course, oh and get packed lunch stuff out for tomorrow.
One day I might be more organised...........
