Hi
I am not happy at all. i was ironing away earlier in the kitchen when something caught my eye. I turned to look and a mouse was running across the floor:eek:   . It went behind the 5ft freezer. I went upstairs to get the phone to ring OH. That was the only time i left the room, by the time Oh arrived 40 mins later:mad: ( when he was at his house 5 mins away) it had appeared to be gone. We have put some traps down and they haven't been touched. I'm hoping and praying it was only one and it's gone.
We had mice a while back but they never went downstairs ( well i never saw any evidence). I'm so freaked out, it was so horrible last time. I haven't found any droppings anywhere and i can't smell that distinctive mouse smell that i could last time so it doesn't seem like an infestation.0 -
Tomorrows list.
Oh and i'm quite glad i decided to do the ironing instead of finishing the kitchen. Because when i would have been hoovering the floor on my hands and knees with the hose thingy i would have been right where the mouse came out. Now that really would have freaked me out coming face to face with it.

My BIGGEST fear
I would have moved out by now - truely pretrified of mouses - got a cat as soon as one appeared in our new house.
We live in the country surrounded by fields there are probably more mice than people!!
Isnt it a bit strange to have them indoors this time of year - thought they only looked for free rent in the winter (this winter our cat killed the only one we heard in the kitchen but I suspect DH doesnt tell me if he finds evidence)
Anyway well done for staying in the house and I hope little mickey has gone back to join miney and the gang elsewhere!

I think I will sit out Thursday's list, only now have I had a chance to look at it.
All I have been doing (when I get the chance) is sleeping. Don't know what is wrong with me!For the last few days I have had heartburn (well I thinks its heartburn) and today pains down below and in the lower back, all in all just feeling rough.
Anyway....
germish_se Thanks for the recipe will give it a go when I feel more up to it. By which time everybody else will have tried it except me
I have heard Kay Scarpetta series is good, will give it ago when I have finished reading Kathy Reichs.
pigpen Not far at all only 5 and half hours drive, put the kettle on I'm on my way :rotfl:
A little side note have you heard about the "ghost slugs" in Wales  apparently they eat worms like spaghetti      google it and you will see what I mean.0 -
Belive me if i had anywhere else to go i'd be gone. My OH's house is little more than a building site and there's probably more there. I think all the rain has made them seek shelter.0

 holly mice have to be one of the worst don't they. Thankfully the cats do more than there share to eliminate any near us, though leave plenty for us to clean up. Hope you caught it early
Thought i had best pop in today to say i was a bit better than yesterday - i decided i need to chill a bit and stop being stressed as i am making DS1 behave worst on days when i am most stressed. Thankfully the jaw hurts less today so that is an improvement.
WE went to a retirement lunch at work, caught up with 3 colleagues who have retired in the past year or so, one of whom has terminal cancer but isn't doing too bad, and if he can be positive, then i am damn sure i can. DS1 behaved really well to say how long we were there and how little there was to entertain him as they are in the middle of packing to move into the new building for September. He only got mardy when he was tired, until he realised he could lie with his head on my knee while i was feeding ds2
I've managed flying wise to empty the bathroom bin, strip my bed and scrub the mattress where ds2 was sick on it and it smelt - left it to airbut it needs making now. I made a packed lunch for ds2 to eat at the lunch, and then did him a picnic tea, so he has mainly eaten rubbish, but then again some of it was stuff like breadsticks/grapes/cheese/banana, so i am not going to feel guilty about not cooking and it took some of the stress away.
I'm going to take your advice where possible - bath time is a sore point, as DS1 manages to get filthy most days ie food in hair, today it was felt pen all over his hands/arms, plus when i haven't been bathing him as regularly he ended up with a sore bum, so i feel bad if i don't do him. I was thinking today though i might try and make some sort of mobile to hang from the towel rail in the bathroom so DS2 can play with that while i bath ds1 properly. Me and ds1 can make it together, and add different things to it at different points to extend the craft project - killing two birds there with one stone.
shell sorry you are having to think about family grievances too at this time, last thing you want is the feeling someone is doing something to hurt your mum behind her back. It's good she has you looking out for her.
hope the rest of you have had a good day. I'd best go now and make the bed and try to grab a quick bath before feeding ds2 again - want to be in bed by 11 after greys anatomy
Bye x0 -

Oh great i've had a giant moth, maybugs, mice and now ghost slugs are appearing in Wales, whats the bets i find one in the garden:rolleyes: . Although i don't think they'd bother me too much as long as they stayed outside. I've just googled them they're really odd aren't they.0
