I want to kill my BH (bl@@dy husband) - he cleared up on Sat and just opened two cupboards for the contents to fall out onto my feet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had one like that until i found a cupboard for his junk and kept adding it all until eventually he opened it one day and everything fell out, unfortunately I wasnt there when it happened but the girls told me what had happened and that daddy was grumpy:D

Just got in from work - absolutely shattered and don't feel like doing anything! It was a leaving do for someone at work but I ended up setting it all out, washing wine glasses, clearing away afterwards and sorting everything out!

BUT just had British Gas round to check the gas boiler as it was highlighted in the house survey that itn looked like the original boiler and would be approx 25 years old. Any way they have condemned it, the company went out of business in 1988 and there are no replacement parts available and the boiler doesnt seem to have been serviced for many years, they have also stated that the flue does not comply with current regulations and the water tank is the wrong size. So we are now looking at having to get everything replaced ( i can use the boiler for hot water but not for heating and even that is only a short term fix).

does anyone here have any idea of what this is likely to cost, Do i go with Scottish Gas or try elsewhere if elsewhere -where local plumbers?? We have just spent all savings on redecorating sorting out the house so its going to have to be a loan just when we had managed to get debt free at the end of last year.

Jen - I guess its a case of looking around. When I was young(er) and stupid about money, I got my boiler replaced by British Gas. I didnt read the paperwork, just looked at how much I was paying a month, which was about £31. Turns out I was being charged 20% interest! (Only found that out when I found this site :p ) So, by all means, get British Gas round for a quote, but dont take their finance. Now I have a reliable plumber and I will always use him. I could ask him if he could recommend someone in your area. Or I could ask him if he would travel to your area. Is it Clackmananshire?

    Hi,

I've been out again today and have done no flying whatsoever.
Back and legs are playing up too so I am not going to even think about it tonight. I have, though, managed to speak to a real person at the council who was able tohelp me about the fact that we don't exist on any databases. I mean our address doesn't exist. We now have to choose a name for our house. DSs are coming up with all sorts of daft ideas, shouldn't have asked them.
