Depends on how old you are and on which era of Punk you are into. With the exception of Jonathan Richman, Theatre of Hate and possibly Blondie (at least the track on here) I would say that they are all Punk bands in it's original (purest?) form.
My youngest brother loves Jonathan Richman's music. I'd never heard of him so looked him up and found an article which said that some of the bands that are considered the founders of punk actually say Richman is. Personally I haven't a clue about the genre and find Richman's stuff quite quirky, yet interesting, in a moth flying to the light type way..

Sun Carry On Starts Today, as does Mail/WHSDarling Buds - bumped as a reminder..
and to add to the 30 years of Punk debate no doubt all these bands emerged "out" of punk era, where Punk finished and New Wave started I have no idea and I was a "Punk" at the time, and as first Punk releases were all in 77 (and disc is titled 30 years of Anarchy,,) think Times entitled to still call it 30 years - especially when they give us such a great CD, Theatre Of Hate track I had not heard for years. My mates sister went out with Kirk Brandon for a short period ......seems she was not the only oneCoupon redemption at Martins, McColls and ASDA
