sorry to hear about peopls off the wagon with bread at the very least make sure it is granary but why dont u get some lowcarb breadmix and make some of that for those times? or instant bread even

i know its hard but there will always be people who for one reason and another will derail u, as i always say at least i can control my food and not let these people BEAT me... yeah may sound a bit weird but it works for me lol.... when i was going thru my very messy divorce the times i felt like giving up after a day in court and stuffing i just thot no i wont let that !!!!!! ruin this for me as well (stubborn little critter me lol)

pancake recipe using almond, not tried it so cant vouch for it sorry

1 cup almond flour, 2 eggs
1/4 cup water (for puffier pancakes, you can use sparkling water)
    2 T oil
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1 T sweetener

mix and cook like ordinary pancakes

  • Pilly, I just copied off other people on this thread for my coleslaw i.e.
white cabbage, bunch of spring onions, small amount of carrot - some people don't use any carrot because it's a higher carb veg but I only use about a quarter of one carrot so it's not disastrous. Also, you can add a couple of dashes of vinegar or worcestershire sauce but I just grind in some black pepper & that's nice enough for me. Oops, forgot to mention the mayonnaise!! You should use full-fat mayo, I put in 2 dessert spoons & that's enough for me but obviously it depends on how much coleslaw you are making & how you like it!!
PS. I use an electric chopper to whizz all the veg together, I like the pieces quite small, then add the mayo & seasoning.
Hope you like it - it's soooooo easy to make & lovely & fresh tasting.

    Hi all!

Intended to go to butchers today but had such good luck on the whoops counter that I decided to leave it till next week. Want some marrow bones, reminded me of sucking the juice out of the toe bones from cow heel. My mum made the best broth when we were growing up :D

    Friday in asda I got
    800g chicken breast strips
    1kg lean beef mince
    2thighs n 2 drumsticks
    4 slices of pork belly
    400g lamb shoulder
all for £5.70! Imagine my glee! :j

Bit of a Krypton Factor moment getting it all to fit in the freezer so brain got exercised at least.

All had the union flag on so doin my best for Jamie :)

Lost internet last night so just did all the housework n watched a film.

Enjoying a nice vodka lime and soda, if Nerys and India say it's ok, I'm with them :D

    Yesterday
    B - sausage and piggies
    L - HM curry
D - belly pork, cabbage and leeks
and yet again, mascarpone choc dessert. tis even better with agave nectar, you could serve that to anyone and they'd be thrilled :)

    Today
B - belly pork and leeks
L - chicken wings and rocket salad with mayo
D - probably a couple of drumsticks with celery tomato and mustard mayo

On the toast front, I havent had any for about 12 months. Dont miss it as even granary blew me up like a balloon. Like the smell when it's cooking at work but never even remotely tempted. Think me and bread have irreconcileable (sp?) differences :D Even though we used to be the best of friends.

    Heyho! Onwards and upwards!
