    Me too.
I love usborne books and there are some great deals. The christmas colouring in books are 10 for £20 this week instead of £4.99 each. My son is 2 6n dec 21st so i bought these for the kids instead of party bags.

I got one of the colouring books today from The Book People £1.99 it looks great!

I dont sell Usborne any more as I was finding it increasingly difficult to sell to people and compete with other places. Good luck to anyone starting out
  • I started Usborne just over two years ago. At first I found it quite difficult to make sales, I went to lots of school fairs and other events and at many didn't sell a thing. I gave it a break for quite a while, only doing enough to keep my 'membership' current, and just recently decided to try again.

It has been totally different this time round. I have had the odd event where I have sold only one or two books, but mostly sales and orders have been £100 plus, with most approaching £200. I have recruits too which as others have said is the best way of earning from it, but it is perfectly possible to make money from this.

My advice to all would be if you have the confidence to talk to people and love what you are selling you can make a go of it.
  • How are you getting on emmabo? You have certainly joined at the right time of year for all the fairs and events being held.

I did Usbourne books many years ago when the kids were littel. I inititally did it for the books as once you had paid for your 'kit' the books where yours. They then brought in a minimum sales per month clause, which I couldn't reach because of my main catchment area - predominantly English as a second language - and the increase of cheaper ( and in my opinion poor quality) books. My children 22 & 20 still have some 'Farmyard Tales' and 'Poems for Children' which every now and again we read together!!!
If you can get into nurseries, pre-schools etc you will probably make some money but not £400 a month.

Why not £400 a month? I make more than this each month.

I went to the Usborne organisers' gala and conference this week and believe me there are lots of people making lots of money through it... and judging by the excitement and noise having lots of fun in the process! Some of the award winners have been working with Usborne for 17 or 20 years, building up their business to great levels. One lady earned over £22,000 (yes, thousand) in November alone, as bonus commission on her sales and the division that she and her team members have built up. But one of the tens of women (and men) who are going on the cruise to Mexico and Miami next month, courtesy of Usborne Books, only joined last March.

I started last January and have since taken on a full-time job besides, which I wouldn't have got if it weren't for the experience of recruiting and managing my own team. I love it so much though that I'm continuing as a lucrative 'hobby' (tax-paying of course!).

If you join with the right person and put some time and effort in, you really can take it as high as you want to. I spent my initial commission cheques on books for stock and my family, then team resources. My local team members have invested barely anything though - they borrow from me! This year my target is to pay for my family to have a fabulous French family holiday with no expenses spared.

I went to the gala too - it was great!

I've been doing Usborne about 2 and half years and I won the trip the travel incentive. We go one month today!

There is no minimum sales target.
