Hi lucky_me
If you have downloaded an agreement form from the main Usborne website it wont mention the offer as the offers do change from month to month. The offer is available until Monday 14th July when the price will go up to £10 ( still a fab offer ).
As mentioned in my previous post if you join you will have to submit £100 plus order within your first 12 weeks. If you do this within 3 weeks you will get a bonus pack of books to keep.
I do lots of craft fairs and at the moment summer fairs. I prefer to do these more than parties as you get to meet teachers etc which can then lead onto more sales for you.
I know a few people who do Usborne who dont have children and they manage fine. Anymore questions ask away0 -
Just to confirm what Hamsterholly has said EBay selling is strictly not allowed and also selling to shops and via non templated website, but apart from that sell to whoever you like!:D0

Great thanks for that Hamsterholly..just one more question for you.. sorry!
If you do not make a 100 plus order what would happen? Would you be liable to pay for the books etc?
Many thanks0 -

Also you cannot just sign up purely for the books as jap200 has stated. Yes it is only £5 to join and for this you will get just over £100 books and stationary but you need to place a £100 plus order within your first 12 weeks. The average party is £170 so this is achievable.
Sam the op has joined my team and I have given her honest advice from the start so I disagree with you saying people should take our advice with a pinch of salt.
OK - the website rules must have changed then, but it doesn't seemed to have stopped people doing it. I have just had a quick look and there plenty of Ebay shops selling almost exclusively Usborne books - one shop called 'Laura's Usborne Collection 07' even proudly states in her listings that she is an Usborne Organiser!
Hamsterholly states that the average party order is £170, which may be true (with a good wind behind you), but spending 2-3 hours at a toddler group for a £25 order can happen too.
Also, you have to pay a ridiculous price for every piece of promotional paperwork - leaflets, posters, catalogues etc. so to do a leaflet drop at a school can set you back a huge amount before you start!
Hamsterholly - are you saying that if someone doesn't place the £100 order they have to give the books back? This just doesn't happen in practice. Many people take the opening offer and run and there is nothing you can do about it.
The OP needs to make her own mind up, but basically I feel it is important to point out that anyone who contacts her by PM offering to sign her up has a vested interest. I thereby stand by my words to take the advice with a pinch of salt - I know, I have been there!0 -
I did Usborne when my children were young and for a while I was one of the highest sellers locally. However it was hard work, I lost friends because of it as you are always looking for sales and everyone is fair game.
Unfortunately with cheap books being available in a lot of places now it suddenly died off as did the commission and I gave up.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. It is really easy to do, place an order for £100 within 3 months. Honestly, as an organiser since May I had all the same queries as you but it really is very easy to achieve! If you didnt place the order within the 12weeks you would return to a 'customer' and would have to pay for the books.. but honestly just passing your catalogues round family/friends or holding a 'starter party' will more than likely reach your target in no time\\ Debt Free April 2008 //\\ Single Mummy to 1 boy - 4 years & 5 months old //\\ Last weeks spend: £139.39 - 2 NSDs //0 -
If you didnt manage to do the £100 order within 12 weeks Usborne will invoice you for the price difference which is the price of your starter kit minus the price you paid which would be approx £95.
They have this rule to prevent people from just joining up to get the books.
Hope that helps0 -

Me again.
If you sign up (specially now at such a low price) you get the package of books and some stationery including catalogues.
You would then need to submit another order to the value of £100 worth of books within 3 months. Remember that you will get commission on this order so you will pay out less money and if your order is over £100 you will be eligible for some free books (10% of the order value).
For my first order I just looked through the catalogue for future gift ideas and spoke to a few friends and between us that first order was very quickly accomplished. Those same friends were also my first party customers.
From there I branched out to target groups so as not to lose friends and keep my orders coming. I would say that they still come back to me for orders from time to time.
I think there is another thread on here somewhere that had some more advice that I looked at a few months ago. If I can be of any more help then PM me. It can be a bit confusing at first so ask anything you like - I know I did when I began!LD 12.25 £1600.00/£0700.00 Fn £274.00 LTFn £525 LLTFn £300
