Man, these guys take the biscuit. I phoned up to cancel today, on day 29 of my trial, to be told a payment has been taken for next month so I may as well stay with them for a further month!
I gave the guy some serious earache and he refunded the payment but guess what - it'll take 7-10 days to go back in to my account! So they are so efficient at taking money that they do it early but when it comes to giving it back they drag their heals!
I called 084433505503 and got through pretty quickly if people are still having problems getting through.0 -
I used the 0800 0665825 number as mentioned previously and it worked great, spoke to a lovely Irish lady who cancelled it for me even though I did not have a reference number. She just asked a few details instead.

I signed up to the 30-day free trial last month and wanted to cancel. I didn't want to call their 0844 number so used saynoto0870 to find this number, 0800 0665825.
There was a quick choose option 1 or 2 automated message, but it was soon answered by a softly spoken Irish lady who cancelled the account very efficiently with no fuss. There was no hard sell, but she did offer a reduced price for me to stay, which I politely declined.
Almost instantaneously I received an email confirming cancellation.
I was gearing up for an expensive phone call and the hard sell, fortunately neither happened. :money:
Thanks
I used this number and spoken to a very helpful guy, It taken less than 2 mins to cancelIf I have been helpful - Hit the Thanks button0 -

my son has phoned 4 times since January to cancel his "free" trial...each time they say they will cancel but the following month 6.99 is taken from his account (4 lots now).....only one payment has ever been refunded....after ringing again on the 23rd april and again being told its cancelled we found today that yet another payment has been taken on 3rd May...this company is USELESS others be warned have nothing to do with them....we are going to try the Irish lady now to see if we get any joy with her0

I have just stupidly signed up to this myself. When I have put my details in and everything it asks me to call them for confirmation of my account or something like that. Have I now signed up? I am unsure if I have, I am unsure as to ignore this and not cancel, or am I wise to cancel? I definitely think the £2 report would have been easier for me in hindsight! But I am unsure if I will be billed.0

I have just managed to cancel my account after sending 2 emails which Equifax did not respond to, although they say they will. I used the 0844 number unfortunately and was on the phone for over 13 minutes, wish I had known about the 0800 number. However they say they will refund me the £6.99. I checked with my bank as they have a list of all direct debits and standing orders for me to cancel/amend but Equifax was not on it even though they have taken out a payment. I would suggest cancelling any payments to them at your bank first and then calling them on the 0800 number.:money:0

Hi peeps,
Don't know if this is useful but I just called Experian and Equifax (had an account with both) to cancel. Upon being asked why I was leaving, I said I was reducing my outgoings and that I already had an account with the other agency.
Experian (Credit Expert) offered me the same service for 1.99 a month, and Equifax offered me the same service absolutely free for a year (note to self - call to cancel in 12 months!).
Thought this might be helpful if anyone wants to keep an eye on their credit without paying a bomb.
Or perhaps I'm just a sucker for a sales pitch... :cool:Reformed spendaholic0 -
