Thanks to the information on this thread, I have just telephoned the 0800 number above and spoke to the same soft spoken Irish lady who was ultra helpful and answered a query I had and then cancelled my free trial with immediate effect - great :T :T

Can I ask what info did you need to hand to cancel the account - just want to make sure I have everything I need?

Hi! When I cancelled, they asked me for a "reference number". I politely explained that I didn't have it at hand. They then asked me for my postcode and name, and they cancelled it from there.

Once I got through to a real person I found the cancellation process to be painless, efficient and straight-forward. Don't worry: it isn't Ryanair that you are dealing with.

    Best wishes

I signed up to the 30-day free trial last month and wanted to cancel. I didn't want to call their 0844 number so used saynoto0870 to find this number, 0800 0665825.

Thank you Sponge! I think I got the same softly spoken lady, a pleasure to cancel. :money:
  • Although I feel a tad sorry for the polite Irish lady if she works in fraudulent claims. She must be wondering why her phone keeps ringing with cancellation queries

    On their website it says:

How do I cancel, amend or upgrade my Equifax subscription?

The safety of your personal information is our number one priority. With this in mind, it's important for us to verify your details over the phone if you need to cancel, amend or upgrade your subscription.
You can reach our customer services team on 0844 335 0550, choosing option 3, between the hours of 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

But I don't feel like paying 10p per minute being on hold so I will try the recommended number, thanks :)

There was a quick choose option 1 or 2 automated message, but it was soon answered by a softly spoken Irish lady who cancelled the account very efficiently with no fuss. There was no hard sell, but she did offer a reduced price for me to stay, which I politely declined.

Almost instantaneously I received an email confirming cancellation.

I was gearing up for an expensive phone call and the hard sell, fortunately neither happened. :money:

I can confirm this telephone number works and now my account has been cancelled by the same softly spoken Irish lady called Lisa.

Have received the cancellation confirmation email within seconds of hanging the phone up, no hard sell speel from Lisa, was just offered the service for half price. I kindly said no thank you as I do not find the service of any use any more and she did not argue and was very polite.

Thanks to the guys on here for the 0800 number!
  • Thanks for number, cancelled yesterday after much searching, should have come straight here! What a nice lady!.
