Hi FH Brit, thanks for your reply, one of the companies is Fortis through Age UK - we'd always gone with them before but this time the premium is v.high - it works out £20 less to cover DS (10) & hub with Insure&go. I don't want to waste £20 - it would buy a lot of ice-creams... It's a bit complicated for DS as strictly speaking he doesn't have a medical condition, he has Asperger's Syndrome, which some companies don't even list, but I'd much rather include it as it affects him in lots of ways.

Ted - Asbergers is a medical condition, that's why they term it as conditions and not illness, disease, sickness, or other terminology as condition covers everything including mental health, adictions, etc. etc.

£20 can be worth "investing" in a better policy and get the coverage you need. I&G and Fortis are better policies but PLEASE compare the coverage and pick the best for YOUR needs and don't just look at prices.

If I was travelling on hols like you guys from the UK - I would buy (in order of preference)
    Tesco
    Post Office
    Norwich Union (Aviva)
    Barclays Bank

Yes - if in doubt, tell the insurance company as much as possible - they are the ones who will decide if you are too much of a risk for their basic policy and let you know your alternatives - Too many people fall foul of the "I did not think I had to mention that" after their claim has beed denied and they are left with a huge bill.

    Hi FH Brit

As this post is quite old would you still use these companies.

    Thanks for any advice

Bumping this post as as timely reminder to people booking their hols. It's an older thread but hopefully still useful.
