Beanie: Where?????? We still on the same hymn sheet beanie? haha did you get that? what a pun!! :p I have never heard of that place so i hope i dont live near it!!

Vix, apparently Taplow is a village in Buckinghamshire. Maybe that earth quake in Folkestone moved us a little bit closer

I went to Lapland a few years ago (treat from Grandparents for little Monkeys) - it was bloomin' cold and a little bit 'commercial'. There was an odd reindeer tethered to random trees here and there. Nice to go once in your lifetime though.

Missyg, enjoy your holiday. I have a vivid memory when I was young of going on a DFDS Ferry/Liner from Harwich (I think) to Denmark, the food on the all you can eat buffet breakfast was out of this world - it was my first taste of caviar on egg yolk - for someone of my background it was truely amazing. I'd been brought up on tinned curry, Fray Bentos tinned pies etc :rotfl: We also brought back these strange bed sheet thingys called duvets :rotfl:

    FFM :)

lol ajax, i was sympathetic for a while, but it gets to a stage where you have to say - 'mate we're on the road to 30. stop dating first year art students, you know it's going to lead to a world of pain.'

..... :rotfl: ok kpc, you beautiful naive creature you.. (was that patronising enough folks?:D) Any man approaching 30 who gets the chance to take the temperature of a girl in her teens is not going to turn it down. You might as well ask us to walk to the sun :) I told MrsA that I must be approaching my mid-life crisis now - she reckoned that I'd have the sports car but I protested that I was kind of hoping it would go the way of a 17 year old bit-on-the-side. We can but see.

Vix: "As sexual as my work uniform is...."

    .... more details please.

Well folks, I should be ok for fibre today. Alreday had two rounds of wholemeal bread (HeB) and three Ryvita Muesli Crunch. Then for tea it's gonna be two wholemeal buns (one of them a HeB) with fried eggs and Quorn bacon on. So with the extra bun and three Ryvitas, my whole daily syns are spent on fibre. I may not be around much tomorrow, or at least disappear at short notice :)

fray bentos tinned pies ffm! that was my first meal after i failed at being vegetarian. They have to be the wrongest food on the planet, but once in a while . . . . . .

lol ajax, can see your point, but thething is, all the first year female art students i have ever met have been angst-ridden mess-ups who insist that they have depression and take vast amounts of mind altering drugs in a bid to self medicate. He ALWAYS ends up embroiled in 4am mercy dashes after they've been sobbing down the phone adamant that they are going to kill themselves this time, only to turn up and find them passed out from booze whilst watching the Simpsons. i can';t believe any amount of nubile flesh is worth that much trouble. It usually ends with him virtually becoming their counsellors, and then they dump him because ' you're like my best friend'.

... no ma'am. I'm making a case for tins of pre-fried onions as the wrongest food on the planet.

:rotfl: :rotfl:brilliant writing kpc, got me rofling here. Oh god yeah I'd forgotten all about being angst-ridden at 18. I never was an art student though so can only imagine the hours they must spend lying awake at night practicing the next day's speech at which they are going to try to convince the lecturer that they are the new Nick Drake. "This particular sketch of an apple is all about the descent into craziness which I found myself falling into. You see, Mr Rodgers, you can love an apple and hate it at the same time, and I felt like I was on a precipice, kind of like a tightrope - it was all a bit overwhelming, and I guess that comes through in the sketch". That mission accomplished, they'd catch a bus to the voluntary day ward just so they wouldn't be lying when they'd say they've been admitted to a mental hospital.

Afternoon peeps:D glorious sunny here:D just trying to pack for next week, eldest has got 14 tops that have to come with him:eek: apart from all the other trousers, shorts ,swim shorts, we will need a special adapted suitcase for the weight just for him:rotfl: wittling down me thinks:D

Went to a supermarket yesterday and this lady stopped me, asking if it was really me (apparently I had been a while ago and they went for their coffee break and discussed me at length that they thought it was me but couldn't be me) I said yes it was me and she said 'but it can't be' when I asked why she said 'because you were so fat before' why thanks for the compliment:rotfl: :rotfl: I think she now means I am slim:rotfl:
Spoke to my old boss today, ah the memories:D will get a job when I get back from the hols, need to now we have a mortgage and no longer rent, scary stuff:D

OH has calmed down a bit now most of the jobs have been done so it is not so bad and my eldest and me and the help of google managed to brick lay 21 bricks into a wavy wall that is out in the garden where they had come off, so proud we are, we keep going into the garden to look at our work man ship:D
Eldest and I have sanded, painted, brick layed, base coated, under coated primed, helped fit a door, sorted, cleaned, attic trips, skip trips, we have multi tasked and learnt a lot, now when he leaves home he will be well prepared:rotfl: OH has fitted doors, loaded up the van, emptied it,moved, unpacked, painted, car boot sale to raise money for more paints:D you name it we have done it and now the list is only a page long:rotfl:

I’m sorry I missed the ‘giggle’ day yesterday but it was still nice to catch up and (unless I’ve been speed reading too badly) everyone seems to be going away…

Missy – hope you have a fab time. Has the washing machine arrived okay?

FFM – enjoy the sangria. Have a fab time

victory – If you’re up to it my house needs decorating and how are you at industrial cleaning? I pay very good rates. Maybe you’ll need some pocket money when you get back from your hols (ever hopeful :rotfl: ). Also hope you have a fab time.

kpc – I looked up the conversion Ibs to Kilos. I’ve decided NOT to swop but thanks for the offer :p

And to my new heroes who have blown apart some age old fibs I’ve obviously being living by:

Ajax – salad negates all calories in burgers

kpc – snapping chocolate in half evaporates all the calories

bb – for the biscuit tip

I bow in awe of your superior knowledge. I’m off to the shops now to buy supplies and test all these theories out :D .

Oh and with regard to Fray Bentos pies… I still have one in my cupboard ><

Hey everyone! Just gatecrashed in on the chat, no idea who you're talking about but loving the angst-ridden art student stuff :T:rotfl:As for Fray Bentos pies, you gotta love a bit of that now and again (said the vegetarian, pining for a past wrong ;))

How is everyone doing? Not even going to attempt to catch up, no idea where I even was on the thread, but hope you're all doing well. I'm currently hanging from post-holiday madness but will be getting back into it all once I can get to the supermarket/gym.

KPC, great news about the interview, what's it for? And good luck with the party; I think I'd like you to turn up at my house with a range of goodies :D

News this end is that Greece was lovely, Brighton and the delectable BB too; cute kitten is home and asleep on my arm, the other two are out on foster and hopefully finding a home as a pair in a couple of weeks; I think I'm about to start a Masters and the sun is shining. Woo hoo!
Have a great day all xx

    Well it's still a compliment...kinda :D

The Czech cleaning lady came into work this morning and tried to ask in her broken English if I've lost weight. It's great when people notice, I really can't wait to see my mum at christmas :D
