Just a quickie to report that I stepped 'ever so lightly and gazelle like' onto the scales this morning and the good news is that I STAYED THE SAME!
Catch you later.

Heya, hope you had a great time. Who cares what the scales say!! I am a fan of france, probably the best night i had was when matt and i went to see the moulin rouge, a little tipsy and running to the station that was dead. Felt wild and free, bit like a film moment!!
What part of france did you go to? Did you fly? cos if you didnt you were near to where i live.
ITS FAR TOO QUIET HERE!!!!
Hi Vix - we went to Normandy, not far from Caen, and we went by car, so yes, I drove through your part of the world and thought of you!
When we booked, DH hadn't been given the all-clear to fly, and I really needed a holiday so the choices were limited to the UK, France, or a no-fly cruise. I'm glad we chose France - there was quite a lot of driving, but it's much easier there as there isn't so much traffic. He can fly now, so we're going to start planning the Vegas trip that we had to cancel.
Normandy is really lovely - beautiful coastline, lovely beaches, pretty little villages with flowers everywhere, and the people were really friendly. We always do our best to learn a few words in the local language before we go on holiday, and we got by very well as most people then practised their English on us! I think they appreciate it if you try, rather than doing the typical Brit abroad thing, i.e. expect them to speak English and talk very loudly at them!
Right, better get back to reading the 95 emails I've amassed in my absence!

I have a gain of 0.75lb this week. Here is what I did to earn the gain:
Weekly calorie intake: 10502
Average daily calorie intake: 1500
Exercise: 10.5 hours of mostly exercise bike (166km) & running (23km)
I'm going to do one more week of the higher calories of 1500/day and then draw my conclusions. I think it would be unfair to do it today considering it's TOTM
I have to admit, I am feeling a bit cheated because every single week I put in the effort for at least a 1lb loss, and it never seems to happen. Over the past 10 weeks I have lost a grand total of 0.75lb!
On the positive side, I am meeting all my fitness goals and still loving being under target - so my moan is just a small one, as my overall health and fitness is more important than what I weighThis time last year I was 21lb heavier, 10cm bigger round the waist and nowhere near as fit!

Glad the Bails/BB mini-thread-meetup went well!
Purple throne status already, eh? Can't be bad!
I'm probably going to have to get a little more food in for the rest of this week, as my son went on a binge this weekend :rotfl: All I have left in the freezer now is 5 fish fingers, a few burgers and some bread!
Hi Bunter and welcome to the thread! I find it virtually impossible to shed weight while at what is probably peak fitness for me... I think I'm the exception rather than the rule though  Glad to hear it's working for you
Lois - hahaha maybe I am not stepping onto the scales lightly enough?!GREAT result for you to STS after a holiday! I am impressed!!!
Good luck to everyone still to weigh and sorry if I've missed anyone's results!0 -

Certainly, I'll set up a web cam or something hahaha. I am keeping mum posted about my losses (or otherwise) each week, but of course it's not 'real' until she sees me in the flesh.
Speaking of which...a 2 lbs loss for me this weekvery pleased as I've worked out I need a steady 1.5 loss each week to reach my target, so anything over is a bonus.
One thing i would have loved to have done is to see queen live. If i had three wishes i would use one on that.
My mum once saw Queen live, she loved it. I have a DVD of one of their live shows (Wembly I think) and near the end Freddie says how there have been rumors of Queen splitting up, and it won't ever happen unless one of them dies. Always chokes me up.
can't say that I find it easy but yes I do think fitness has an awful lot to do with weight. but as you have said you are working hard AND eating properly and that is teh real key. If you did the same amount of exercise but ate a junk food diet, there is no way it would work as well.
This is exactly what I'm trying to tell the girl at work who seems to think that just because shes joined the gym she can eat more mcdonalds etc etc. Drives me mad to see her bring in bags of fruit, then just leave it on the table and order out instead! Thou I usually end up with the fruit, so it's not all bad.
Not going to the gym today, I'm waiting on a call from my prodigal brother so I thought I'd give my house a much needed proper clean, sofas moved & all that so it's pretty much a workout. I've done the living room & bedroom and just having a cuppa and waiting for the post before tackling the kitchen & bathroom.
Edit to add: Decided to alter my target in my sig, I'm not aiming for 12 stone, but 11 stone by xmas now!

Morning all,
I usually weigh in on a Wednesday morning however I'm being dragged to the family static home in Petticur Bay today  . I won't be back until Thursday (there are no scales or internet access) so I thought I better do an early weigh in this week.
2 kilo loss - still got 2 more kilos to shift to make up for the London gain - still I'm half way there! If I lose 2 or more kilos next Wednesday then I'll be back on track!

kpc, your weekend sounds a complete riot.If I was a bit weller I'd sign up for one of these re enactment thingies, they sound just up our street.
Bunter, that is great news re your fitness and sensible eating & also that you discovered you were eating too little. Well done for adjusting that and for the weight loss:T .
I can't exercise regular because of health issues, so am not able to comment re my experience.
Missy - surely you cant compare yourself to Bunter, because you have reached size 8!!! This is the lowest your body can go without becoming unhealthy, so of course you are not going to lose anymore. If you were losing 3lb a week at this stage that would be seriously worrying. Or even a lb a week.
Lois -that is brilliant you stayed the same!!! Aren't you glad now you relaxed and enjoyed yourself:T
Victory, sorry you are suffering today. T.a.k.e.it. e.a.s.y..
Might venture to Lidls today to spent the last of my £6.50:D . Also want to get to the library where a slow cooker book awaits me on reservation. Really enjoying Hugh F-W book on meat at the mo (also from library) All about the different cuts of meat, and also how to use all the chaeper cuts to make delicious and cheap meals. It is great to beable to reserve books on line. I use the library much more becasue of this.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Missy - I just read your sig am I right in reading that you have a BMI of 20 at the moment? How much weight are you wanting to lose? If you were my height that would make your weight 7 st 10 lb. Is that about right?
weight loss for me this week 1.4 Kg or just over 3lbs!0 -
As a maintainer, the only weight I wish to lose is the weight I gain. I've now more or less dealt with the 8lb gain from the last holiday, and I would have liked to go a few lbs lower (without going underweight) before the +/-12lb gain on the next holiday - I'll be away for longer hence the larger expected gain.
I've always been of the opinion that it's better to lose a bit in advance of a special occasion - do you guys think I should stop worrying about this and deal with the gains after they have happened instead?0
