Hi Efrieze well done on the bike purchase! I don't blame you for going for a new one
It is still MSE as long as you get lots of use out of it! I finally relented and bought a speed and distance gadget too, which will do for running and cycling
(I think it even measures altitude FFM!)
I don't really enjoy pushing hard for new 'best times' (though I like achieving them) so I'm only going to do those once in a while, and most of the time have a leisurely run at a pace I'm more comfortable withAll this is going to come to a screeching halt soon anyway, as I won't be able to do anywhere near as much when my son is on summer holidays. Slightly scary.
Hmm Ajax, I would have gone with the weekend away idea too... so I guess any sort of 'experience' gift is out of the question and it has to be something material (as well as being unique)? Tricky...! I'll keep thinking. Good to hear about MrsA by the way!0 -
Hi everyone, just wanted to report a 0.4lb gain. I averaged 2010 calories per day, cycled 26 miles and did one body balance class in the week.
I am aiming to average 2000 calories per day again this week to see what happens. I should be able to fit in another 26 miles cycling and an aerobics or body balance class.

Wow! that sounds great. I've given up with my cyclometer (it was a freebie from Kelloggs) I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong with it but it doesn't turn off or reset - and often doesn't measure anything. I don't think it is the cyclometer as I have 2 and they both do the same thing.

evening everyone!!
I've had a 60% out of a 100% day today. Work was rubbish, this woman who started after me is trying to tell me not to put full cup bras and non full cup bras together and im like yea, im not thick. She is such a cow. Blimming know the difference by now and if i dont i shouldnt be working on lingerie!! But screw her, i got 90% for my work apraisal and my work is lots better than hers, its just shes full time and im not and that seems to mean more to debenhams for some reason.
2nd worst event of the day was when i was trying to help an elderly man. I was walking home and this frail man was walking across the crossing (there is a set of two, not just a big one across the whole road) as i approached he was over the other side of the road and his bag was left in the middle. I crossed the road and asked if it was his bag and he shouted "thats my bag" and i said did you want me to take it across for you? and he said in this really rude voice, "oh f*** off" I felt like taking his bag and putting it right on the other side of the road again.
Last time i'm going to go out of my way for an old man in a brown cord coat.
anyway, not done bad exercise wise. 4 hours on my feet at work, walked home and did half hour on the wii fit. Quite a good day for me, that totals just over 5 hours of good standard movement for today. Although according to the wii fit ive put on 2lbs haha. Im now classed as overweight so i dont think its the most accurate way of tracking weight!
Hope it gets easier for you mrs grannywise!!
knew i had other stuff to say but totally forgotten now. ho hum0 -
Bad times Vixarooni!!! lol - you made me smile and think of work - I am a podiatrist, and a little old couple came in yesterday and 'Mr' was in the diary so I offered to help him with his shoes (couldn't get down there himself), and as I was bending down to help he looked quite startled and started to say something, and I realised it was Mrs having her feet done and the receptionist had made a mistake...... 'Mrs' is quite batty so hadn't noticed lol.
WI day for me tomorrow - well done everyone else this week!
Lesley xNO EXCUSES - THIS YEAR IT'S PERSONAL..........0 -
Well done on the exercise Vix.
If I see the man in the brown coat when I'm out and about I'll snatch his bags and cycle off - he won't catch me. Miserable so and so. Well done you for trying to be nice.

Are you pleased with the week's result FFM?
Looks great to me! I hope I can get to where you are calorie wise eventually
At least you tried with the Kelloggs freebie, mine sat in a drawer and then I gave it away without ever using it
Vix, are you taking the wii fit weight readings at the same time of day each time you use it? And do you move the balance board around in between times and/or use it on carpet? Those things can all cause ups and downsHaving said that, I don't trust it for accuracy either.
I haven't exercised today so I'll be all rejuvenated ready for a good one tomorrow0 -
hmmm, recycling machines . . . . like the sound of those. Poor vix, her good deed for the day spurned. Don't let it put you off being nice to people though, what goes around, comes around. As far as the wii goes, i seen to recall one newspaper running a big article about how it tells 10 year old girls that they are obese. way to get an eating disorder, what?
Ajax, if your friend has a pub, why not look at something spectacularly expensive in wine or port? MAybe something to drink now, and some to lay down for a couple of anniversaries? I googled 'wine merchant' in the UK and got afew. www.bbr.com looks good.
tewkesbury pics are now on my facebook page. . . . and yes, that is a garter my oh is wearing on his head. And no, it's not mine.0 -
0.5 lb loss this week thanks.
Well done to all the energetic people on here :j I hope to get a chance to get going on my exercise again in a few weeks.0 -
0.2kg gain for me this week - which means i've got off lightly, what with the mead, and the takeaways, and the jaffa cakes, and the chocolate. Did I mention the brandy and the pesto stuffed olives too? Fingers crossed all that doesn't come and hit me next week! goingto a team buiding session today. Dress code says 'casual', receptionist says 'no jeans'. i have no trousers other than jeans.0
