The scales say I have gained 4lbs:confused:   . There are two ways of looking at this - it is a few weeks of avoiding the WI and burying my head, it is partly due to eating a bit more than usual last night before WI this morning, and it is partly due to all the food I have eaten recently. I decided to 'bank' the gain and then hopefully able to report a real loss next week. I am sick on not going in the right direction, on the weightloss front, and I am sick of more Day 1s but I need to keep trying. At least I have not completely taken my eye off the ball. I will get there.

On the training front, there are two ways of looking at this too. I reported before that my friend had pulled out of doing the duathlon with me (for really crappy reasons) and I have been faced with so many reasons to pull out also but they just make me more focussed. Not only have I got one of the busiest days at work this week, but also they have closed the gym and the showers in my office to make life harder to sneak in some training during the working day. On Monday I was very MSE, and downloaded a free gym pass for a gym local to my office and today I went for a run round the City of London and then instead of showering, just splashed myself with showergel and water in the ladies! Nothing will stop me from my training!!!!!! In summary, you can allow excuses to prevent you from doing things, or you can find ways round the obstacles! Bring on the obstacles - they seem to make me more determined.

It was me - the one whose face was redder than her red t-shirt, counting to 270 (the number of steps on the circuit I completed 8 times), running round trinity sqare gardens in front of the Tower of London and dodging the tourists. I'll wave back next time! I think I will do it again tomorrow. Outside is more fun than inside, me thinks.
  • Well done on your utter determination efrieze:T :T
