Hi guys can anyone confirm wether the offer is still on today! Dont want to waste my time travelling to the nearest m & s to be dissappointed lol
Yes, today is the last day. They're definately still running it. I went to my local M&S this morning and got another two deals, mostly to get a couple of the large chickens for the freezer and more orange juice, because the kids love the juice that's included in the offer. I've got an allotment so have new potatoes, roasting veg and salad stuff in abundance but the kids like the bowls of salad too, bless their picky little souls, so I got two of these. And the jelly terrine is fabulous...
I think this was their best selection yet. It's nice to be able to get things that the whole family will like and given the portion sizes of the chicken, juice, some of the puds and the salads, it's more like a family meal deal than just a "posh meal for 2" offer. I couldn't quite justify spending £10 on a meal for just two of us, but this has been great.
One thing did amuse me though...the chicken/bacon/cheese melts item. You could get the £7+ chicken instead and make the same item with a bacon rasher and a spoonful of grated parmesan etc, with twice the portion size and still have most of the chicken left over, lol. So the made up dishes are hardly the best choice when it comes to value.Val.0 -

But the made up dishes were all that were left at mine!
I have sent my Mum in early again today though to see if they have some chickens!0 -

Did not get the extra 10% off the wine. Only 25% for six bottles. Did you need a voucher?
Amanda
YES!... the voucher is in the little wine booklet that are usually at the end of the tills.....its a small voucher entitling 10%0 -
Did the "Gastro Pub" moussaka (no fresh chickens left :-( ), herb salad, exotic fruit cocktail & SA chardonnay ... £14:50 worth so a saving of just £4:50 ... but guess the salad & fruit top up my health brownie points !
Real bargains were in town centre Somerfield ... five leeks 25p, spring onions 15p, ready meals (for working lunchtimes) 75p ...
Guess its about getting "sell by date" reductions that makes M&S offers on their overpriced food look rather less enticing ?

Just to give you a heads-up there is another dine in promotion sceduled for next weekend - 11th- 14th Sept. I work for M&S lol
Don't know what is on it yet. Keep you posted.0 -
Does anyone know yet what will be in the deal?
Going to stay in Sat night and use the deal as it is our 5 year wedding anniversary and our DS decided we should stay in and have a party instead of going out! He even wants us to have party hats, can imagine the sight! (just to clarify he is only two!!):beer:0 -
hllo
just a thing, beware the normal lamb moussaka. i bought some the other week, and the lamb is sort of powdery in texture,. it is not lamb mince, its sort of lamb 'dust!'---was v disappointed cos i love moussaka, and being m and s thought it might be nice.0 -

woohoo!! thanks for the heads up!! :T
Going to make sure I get there early this time - missed out on the chickens the last couple of times!
I presume it will be starting on Thursday again?0 -
The Dine In for £10 is back this weekend, from Thurs to Sun.
As ever, you get a main meal, vegetable side dish, dessert and a bottle of wine for £10.
Mains usually include some sort of red meat, a couple of chicken dishes, at least one fish dish and at least one vegetarian dish.0 -
Yes, starts Thursday, here's what will be on it:
Whole Chicken
Ready to Roast Gammon
Dusted Lemon Sole Fillets
Cook! Meatballs
Cook! Chicken Caesar
Gastropub Mousakka
Veggie Mousakka
--
Caesar Veg
Meditteranean Roasting Veg
New Pots
Crunchy Salad Bowl
--
Summer Puds
Mango Smoothie Dessert
Sticky Toffee Puds
Spotted D**k (!)
Berry Jelly Terrine
Hot Chocolate Fudge Pud
Fresh Fruit Salad
There will be around 10 wines available this time though not all in every store.
From experience of managing a few of these, my advice would be to get to your local store as early as poss and as soon into the promotion as you can. The most popular lines (chickens!) go quickly and deliveries will weaken by Sunday.
This may change a bit but is basically correct. Ads will appear in the national press on Thursday.
Oh, and you get a free bag for life too!0
