Fortunately I love my parents very much.
Her rages don't upset me because we have had such a good relationship. And I've always been a daddys girl
I just miss the woman she used to beIt is a bit like mourning I suppose.

Hi Olive i really feel for you..that quotation is so apt..i help look after my gran who is 93 and she has always been a moody person, and more so..the personality just seems to get enhanced..rather than diminish if that makes sense. It is a weird thing as so many of my friends are now in this situation and all cope differently with it.
I wonder if it is worth you r dad contacting a local carers assosiation..we have good support in our area from local GP surgery so may be worth a shot..as it would give him another perspective..
You are doing a great job, and in difficult circumstances yourself..xBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
Bob, enhanced personality, so true.
Well Day 24
And I have had a pleasant pottering sort of day. Two hours Skyping Popeye
over coffee this morning. He's had to go into work so just e-mails since then, and he's at a restaurant tonight poor thing.
-I've cleared the teeny bit of garden visible from the kitchen sink. Haven't quite got rid of the bindweed which is firmly entwined in the honeysuckle though. I'm loathe to use chemicals, but I might just paint its leaves with tumbleweed
-Cleaned the bathroom, tidied my bedroom and washed the utility room floor.:D
-Had 4 (FOUR!) breadsticks and a 4-fingered KitKat so far today. But DD & I are having lasagne when the heat goes off the day. I wonder if any of that is helping the diet?
-went up in the loft to set the sonic mouse deterrents (sp) DD insisted one went in her bedroom, because if they are chased out of the loft they're bound to seek refuge in there. Well she's prob. right, but she's the one that leaves dirty crockery and food debris in there.
And I've joined Chore Wars (see Dragons thread) which looks fun.
And Now (sound of taa daa on the trumpet?) I'm going to get my writing out and *look* at it.......0 -
sounds like a good day - I have had a "pleasant pottering" sort of day too.......it has been too hot for anything any more energetic!!
Are you going to just *look* at the book, or open the pages, or write, or what.....Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Its a start! Keep going....2023: the year I get to buy a car0

I *didn't* just look
I've writ for oooh ages* I've writ another scene, one that has been bugging me for ages. I struggle to write the teenagers scenesI just asked DD for a slang word for a condom and she was very po-faced about it
We used to call them rubber johnnies, now apparently they're called condoms
so I'm back indoors for supper which smells yum, and I may type it up afterwards, if MSE doesn't distract me. I now have 3 scenes in my notebook and two on the computer......:D

Hurray! Good for you!2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Excellent :T
:rotfl: at the condom/johnnies thing though :rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
I do need some help or inspiration here,
1) teachers name
2) slang for a you-know what
Do you have any suggestions then?0 -
Day 25
I (well we) have worked out why we (Popeye & me) feel quite so blue at the moment, well it's a suggestion. This point is usually half way between visits, and always week 3 has been pants, then we realise that we're past the hafway mark and we buck up. Only this time we're not even 1 third of the way throuugh -now that it is really 82 days - so "buck up" point is around Day 41
Well I'm not going to feel crap for another fortnight or more so I'm going to pull myself together and refuseNot sure how, but I have to ensure that it doesn't involve spending money (return plane ticket = out of the question
)
I shall cogitate on this while I walk to work this morning
Pottering and being gentle with myself isn't quite sufficient. I like to have something to look forward to, and facing 57 more days of the same pooey feeling isn't helping.
I've typed this and it looks quite childishbut I promised myself I'd be honest on my diary, and I'm being - childish :rotfl:
That and I've put back 2 of the lbs I lost.....
Must be the weight of the muscle I've built up?0
