After hitting my hand against something a while ago I managed to get some blood from the injury on my cream coloured duvet cover, I've tried using Vanish but with no luck. Does anyone know what's best to use for getting blood out?

    Thanks

    Hi,
I am wondering how you all make your home made cleaning products? I have only seen 1 thread about it, and most of the answers were 'buy cheap cleaners from the £1 shop', but i don't want to do that, i want to make my own.

I am not really sure where to start though, can someone give me ideas?
Also, where would i buy empty spray bottles to use?

Firstly don't buy the spray bottles if you've got a product with some branded/supermarket in. Wait till you've finished that then wash out thoroughly and recycle the spray. I've got two or three of these which I need to finish up then I can reuse them.

There is a thread about HM washing powder/liquid. Do a search under gloop, that will lead you there.

White vinegar (buy in bulk), sodium bicarb, lemon juice, are your friends.

The standard MSE OS general purpose cleaner is one part Stardrops, one part white vinegar and one part water.

This only has very mild disinfectant properties, so I’ve added one part of disinfectant.

Now, I appreciate the warnings about mixing domestic chemicals. So I did a risk assessment. It said that I was probably going to die, slowly and horribly. So I opened a window and went ahead anyway. The resulting concoction didn't gas me like a WW1 soldier. It didn't eat its way out of the bottle and through the kitchen floor. It hasn't evolved into a new life form - at least, not yet.

Spray bottles can usually be found in the gardening section of pound shops, etc.
If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5? :)

Lol, Steve, i hope you survive, i am sure you will :)

I am trying to find 'recipes' for things like floor cleaner, polish, general antibacterial sprays, window cleaners (although i am sure i have heard that white vinegar s good at cleaning windows), as well as an alternative for bleach (although i am thinking that i may have to buy this one from a shop).

Equal parts white vinegar and lemon juice for your polish.

Vinegar is brilliant on glass, I just did my shower screen which was very very cloudy and neglected and have tried all sorts of stuff but the vinegar was brilliant helped along with a very tiny amount of Aldi's Magnum washing up liquid which I absolutely swear by.

There are lots of tips and 'recipes' on this thread:

I'll add this thread to that one later to keep the ideas together.

Hi, my grandmother is incontinent and was wondering if it would get out any marks and stains out of a mattress? Any hints or tips on how to do this would be great as nothing I've done or used has seemed to work.
