Hi,
Anyone know wher I can pick up a Dollond & Aitchison voucher. There own website includes a 25% discount voucher but there have been 50% vouchers in the past but I can't find one at the moment.

I ordered a pair of glasses from goggles4u, they arrived after about 21/2 weeks. They look 'ok' - I can tell I didn't pay £200 for them, but I can't see as well with them as with the ones I got from my optician. I certainly wouldn't feel confident to drive in them. I have reluctantly drawn the conclusion that this is one economy I can't make. Fortunately they only cost £14.48 so I haven't lost too much in the experiment.Official DFW Nerd No 096 - Proud to have dealt with my debt!0

Newleaf its a bit hit and miss with goggles4u, I have 2 pairs one is ace and the other marginal. I would suggest that you keep trying other cheap stores, as glasses are so expensive in the high st.This signature is not mine!0

Would be sensible to take them into the optician and check if they're the right prescription - if not, and you're sure you didn't make a mistake (check the confirmatory email you should have got for the numbers), then they should replace FOC.0 -
Thanks for your replies! I tried them again today and they seemed a bit better, maybe I just need to get used to them. I dont know what index the glass is but the lenses aren't particularly thin,- but my Px is -9.5 in both eyes! My 'posh' glasses came from Boots and have the Zeiss lenses which cost £250 each, but now I'm a DFW I can't justify that kind of expense.Official DFW Nerd No 096 - Proud to have dealt with my debt!0

I'm thrilled with my £15 rimless specs from googles4u. Their website seems to be down though.0

I should be getting my specs from SelectSpecs in a few days after receiving an email from them today, will let you guys know the outcome.0

Received my glasses today from SelectSpecs and their the same as you would expect from a high street.
They do need adjusting, the arms need to be made shorter, does anyone know whats the best way to do it at home?0 -
You could try putting the arms (not the glass, obviously!) in hot water and see if that makes them flexible enough to bend. Do it very gently though, and if it doesn't move, then your best bet is probably to go to an opticians and get them to adjust it. Should be free, but might have to pay a small fee.0
