    Hi folks,

I'm looking at purchasing some glasses online shortly to try and save some money because of my complex pescription. I was just wondering if anyone knew of an online company that did glass lenses instead of plastic? I've searched most, if not all of the ones mentioned in this thread but it seems no-one will sell glass lenses - only plastic.
    Advice appreciated as always!!

Have a look at https://www.optical4less.com, I have quite strong lens and got some prescription sunglasses from them and they are very good. They do plastic and glass lens and if you have any questions just e mail them and they will answer your query.

    Hi,

I have been looking at a few sites and their advice seems to vary around prescriptions that feature a prism. Some say that this represents a delicate condition requiring optician input and not suitable for online sale, others don't. Anyone have experience in this area?

    Thanks,

    paul1

    I can highly reccomend selectspecs.com

A month ago I ordered some prescription sunglasses from them for £19.46 (total cost inc delivery). I was so impressed that 10 days ago I ordered some rimless glasses for £35.94 (again total cost!). The rimless pair arrived today and they're great.

The service is excellent, both pairs of glasses have been amazing quality for the price, people would easily believe I'd paid at least £100 extra for each, especially the rimless pair.

I emailed glassesdirect.co.uk on Monday with a query. Still no reply or acknowledgement . Not impressed.

Same thing happened to me. It took 4 or 5 days for them to reply to a query I had. Anyway, I got my reply (eventually!) and have now ordered specs. Here's hoping they're a reputable company?

Has anyone seen any sites selling cheap prescription Sunglasses. I mean actual sunglasses, not just tinted glasses.

    Hi everyone

Just joined, but have been browsing the forums for a while. Would just like to say a big thank-you to all the people who recommended online specs sites. I've bought a pair from https://www.specs-by-post.com, who were extremely helpful (my prescription was outside the ranges available on the website, but they sorted it out over the phone) and I now have a very nice pair of specs, and saved at least 200 quid.:j Have also ordered a second pair from goggles4u after recommendations here, and look forward to trying them out too.:A

    Would reccommend them to everyone

I had a look at them and they seem awful.

If you enter your email to ask a question they take it and start sending you emails. You don't get to ask your question until much later.

Look very cheap, but I don't think you will get value for what little you pay. And the page seeking more francised agents doesn't smell good to me.

    Pass.
