I have just received my glasses from glassesdirect.co.uk and am really impressed with them. I can't believe that they only cost me £15!RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

Never got a reply. If they can't be bothered neither can I . They lost a sale.

With a complex prescription you should never !!! try to have made up online. Exact centration is a must - even small errors in vertical or horizontal measurements ( which are affected by the angle the lenses sit to the face) may give headaches or even double vision.
Surely that depends on what you call 'complex'? I have severe astigmatism, which seems to automatically put me into the 'complex' category, yet the pair I bought online were spot on. Unless these two subscribers had given their prescription to you, I don't see how you can be certain they can't get them online.
CornishJon and Sparkles, Goggles4U goes to +10 and -20, and I haven't yet managed to pick a number for the cylinder and axis measurement outside their range. They do glass lenses and say they're high index (although don't say how high). For 14 quid, I'd be inclined to give them a go - even paying an optician to adjust them would work out cheaper. If you get the headaches, double vision etc, well, it's not exactly life-threatening, is it? Sling the glasses in the charity bin and go somewhere else, but at least you'll have tried.0 -
I want a pair of designer glasses and have found vision2you.com which have a good range and appear to be good value any feedback please0

Hi, just got my glasses today from goggles4u.com, for £30 each they are excellent value, I would recommend the rimless glasses with plastic lenses.
The transition lens are glass and the finish is not as good, but I am being very picky.
Thr frames are fantastic and I'll be ordering another 2 pairs soon.
FYI, delivery took about 10days, very well packed, double wrapped and glasses wrapped in cotton wool in the hard cases.0 -

I have been looking at a few sites and their advice seems to vary around prescriptions that feature a prism. Some say that this represents a delicate condition requiring optician input and not suitable for online sale, others don't. Anyone have experience in this area?
Thanks,

Paul1,
I have prism lenses and would not buy online because of this. They need to be centred correctly (by an optician) and some frames do not lend themselves to a prism lense which is hard to determine from an online photo. I may err on the side of caution, but I'd end up with more headaches, and not less, should the lenses not be right for my eyes in terms of position and the frames a good and comfortable fit.
I have in the past tried Costco and had a pair of French frames that lasted me a year before breaking across the nose arch. Repair/replacement - the first route - and ultimately a full refund was long drawn out and messy, but I did get a refund eventually. It's put me off going back, but it may have been a one off and I may try them again in the future.0 -
Does anybody know where I can but polaroid non-prescription sunglasses for a 10yo boy? There are some on Ebay cheap but I don't know how good they are...0

Got mine last week - very pleased with them. Lenses are very thin (thinner than my previous pair of glasses which cost a fortune), frames seem very sturdy. Also packed very well as above, and, (hidden in the wrapping, so check!) a small bag containg spare screws and nose pieces. So impressed, I've just ordered a pair of sunglasses off them.0 -
Hi Pollypollen,
Thanks for the reply. Luckily it turned out that I didn't need a prism, the optician had put something in the box on my script that was meaningless and D & A could not explain.
Odered a pair from $39dollars.com, fleible titanium and well pleased with the result (can see!).

Just had a little moan on another thread about goggles4u. I ordered a pair over a month ago that haven't turned up, I've emailed twice and had no reply about it. I've also had 2 pairs that have lost an arm, and a pair that lost a lens. I'm switching aligence to somewhere else now, screw the repeat customer discount.0
