My Aunty absolutely loves Curry but can eat very few because she's extremely allergic to garlic. I would really love to be able to make one for her but would it make much difference to the taste if I left out the garlic?
Thanks in advance.0 -

It would probably alter the flavour very slightly, yes, but I can't see it being a problem to leave it out as it certainly wouldn't alter the texture of the sauce. With all the combined flavours from the other spices I'm sure you won't miss the garlic at all"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

Curry Queen, I have made your basic curry several times now, and we all love it-especially the teenage drama queen who hates onions!:j
Just wondered if you had a recipe using the sauce for Chicken Tikka Massala? I have tried to seach the recipe boards, and haven't found one.
Thanks:j0 -

Me Three!!
My DH isnt interested in curry now unless it's a C_Q recipe!!:DI'd rather be a could-be if I cannot be an are; because a could-be is a maybe who is reaching for a star. I'd rather be a has-been than a might-have-been, by far; for a might have-been has never been, but a has was once an are – Milton Berle0 -
A CTM recipe is in progress
I already have somebody testing out a Masala type sauce for me, so when I get the results of that back I'm going to try it out myself and will post up the recipe when it's ready"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

Can't wait, I have tried to make CTM before, but it never tastes the same. I'm starving thinking about it...off to raid the fridge!Curry_Queen wrote:A CTM recipe is in progress

Oh I miss curry so much - my OH is dangerously allergic to cumin so I can only have it when he's away for meetings/courses.Still wish I could buy a TARDIS instead of a house!0

Is cumin in every curry recipe then? I mean, do they just not taste right if you don't use it?

I don't know, but I don't want to risk it as his throat swells closed.
I know that cumin is in garam masala which is in practically every recipe I've looked at.
What really annoys me is that manufacturer's stick it in any old thing to get the burnin sensation. So cajun & creole sauces which should just be chilli have cumin in. If I didn't have a 2hr commute I'd probabyl make things from scratch - but OH is gun-shy with curry now.Still wish I could buy a TARDIS instead of a house!0
