  • ok, this thread gave me the kick to finally getting round to cooking this much talked about receipe and i have all the ingredients for the main sauce but i was going to attemp the Bhuna and i couldn't find garam masala or dried fenugreek anywhere in tesco. And to be honest as i didn't know what they were it was hard to be certain i was looking in the right aisle :o

    Can anyone help?
  • i dont know if you have one by you but morrisons do a fantastic range of indian spices.....they are in little plastic bags and about double the amount of spice for half the price compared to schawrtz and the like jars.
hubby popped there to buy fenugreek and the garam masala when we made the bhuna the other day and he was there and back within 20 mins(5 min drive each way) so it couldnt have been hard to find.
  • Hi little lil

They are both spices. Garam masala is a blend of spices and dried fenugreek is dried fenugreek leaves. Tesco should have them both in the spices section or in their larger stores they may have an ethnic foods section.

Alternatively, you should be able to get them in any good spice shop or Asian food shop, probably at a fraction of the price.

  • I didn't have Garam Masala or fenugreek to hand so I just left it oout of my recipes. Tasted fine, but will stock up at the Asian supermarket on Sunday ;)
