Pleased you bumphed it aurura as i had it lurking amongst my subscribed threads always meaning to try it.
You know what its like.
Friday night is curry night in our house and I always buy Chicken Jalfrezi from Asda which we love but at £7 for a meal for two it certainly increases the weekly shop and Im sure if I could perfect making curry it would work out cheaper.
Tried a recipe out of one of my cook books and it was a disaster so kind of gave up on the idea.
Ok so now its on my new years resolution list and I WILL give it a go.Make £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... March... £65......April...£90.....May £20.....June £35.......July £600 -

Hi,
I have just made the sauce, but am unsure about how much i should be left with - It looks a tad thin at the moment.
I ended up with about 1600ml. is that right??

Wormix, does it need a bit more simmering to get rid of the excess liquid. When I make mine I like it quite thick, like it slides off the spoon rather than pouring off, if you know what I mean. You could try thickening it with some cornflour, adding mashed potato (even the packet stuff) or add some finely grated bread crumbs0

I Tried this recipe from "The Curry Secret" and also came out with a very thin sauce. The figures in the book are all a little confusing, but I am assuming the recipe for the sauce produces enough to make 2 meals for 4 people (8 individual portions)
So should the finished sauce be about 1litre?
Any help would be appreciated!
Cheers

Just tried to make a Bhuna, and was absolutely delicious thanks Curry-Queen we will be using this from now on, goodbye sloppy muck from the ready meal aisle!
I actually substituted the veg oil with olive oil to make it a bit heathier and it still tasted lovely
Arrowroot i divided the base sauce into 425ml pots and got 4 portions so you get about 1600ml or 4 meals for 3-4 people which is good.
Just got to get rid of the smell of onions now!
