I never said *I* agreed with the rule, did I? ;) I met my OH in a chatroom, and it felt so safe and 'right' that I ignored my normal 'safety rules' on meeting internet people. Good thing too as we're still together 5yrs later :)

:rotfl: :rotfl: and you just dont want to know how many blind dates I went out on when I was younger and looking for Mr Right (gave up looking in the end...decided he'd obviously got lost somewheres;) ). The guys that were problematic dating-wise were those I had met in the "real world" in the first place - none of the blind date ones were a problem....bad choice maybe....safety problem - nope. I actually found my "radar" worked better with the "blind daters" than the "real lifers" for some strange reason. There was the one who had had a nervous breakdown and not recovered yet....I was literally sat there waiting wondering when he was going to tell me about it (which he did). There was also the one who had been forced into a "shotgun marriage" in the past....I was also sat there wondering when he was going to mention it...as I had realised about it.......

So - yep I'll go for the idea that "radar" can tell us what we most need to know about someone even without having clapped eyes on them...I've not forgotten the poster on another Board who told me once that I had said exactly what she was thinking, but didnt know how to express it...

"Safety rules" are useful if one doesnt yet have enough experience of life to have learnt a bit about both oneself and other people and we can all make mistakes at any time in life...but I think one has a fair idea of who's who by the time one has a few years under one's belt. You just dont want to know of all the mistakes I made earlier in life with people I met in person in the "real world" in the first place.....well maybe you do....and I'll let you all know if ever I write the book;) :D

Evening everyone - hope all is well in Weezl-thread land ?? :D

Have just blitzed up the cherry tomato, red pepper and chilli passata and boy  is it good ! Hot too :p . Have found a space in the freezer - it will go very nicely in a chilli !

Have bought the dessicated (sp?) coconut and going to try the coconut loaf/cake on Weds (still eating the apple loaf today and enough left for tomorrow - shock !)

Am also going to make some of the Mrs Twinks hobnobs (recipe from this site but you probably already know about it :o ).

Should keep us going for a few days.

Am stuck in a rut with my weight at the moment. Going to try and make more of an effort over the next few weeks (lost 4 st before but have put 3 of it back on  ). Need to eat less and move more ! And stop eating the cakes ! lol

Have been consciously trying to cut down on portion sizes and TBH I'd have eaten the whole apple loaf before now but just having the one small slice per day and restraining myself ! Not sure how I'll get on with the coconut one though as coconut is my alltime favourite thing !! :D

I must just be stupid then as I don't have many years under my belt ;) I'm 25 now so met OH 250 miles from home, alone, at the age of 20!

This is now my motto!!!!:D Simple yet perfect.

Well, in true OS style I have rubber chickened my way through makhani with rice garlic naans and poppadom. Totally stuff, then followed it up with a HUGE portion of pavlova....not the fruity kinda, the sticky toffee kind....now were will I find some excerise at this time of night for all that sugar (bad me, bad!)

Gonna have a go at making tortilla 2mr for quesadillas coz we've some chorizo which needs using up. Might see if I can steal some polenta off mummy coz I've a craving for cornbread muffins, wonder if she'll see this before I ask....

    Well on the "silly front"

I answered an ad in "Best" magazine asking for people to write to soldiers in Kosovo... got a reply, so wrote to him for a few weeks and then let him come and stay for a few days a few months earlier (i lived on my own  )... he turned up... left 3 days later as he had a trip to France arranged with his brother to play golf and was then going back to Germany... he rang whilst golfing then when he got back to his brothers down south -travelled back to the midlands to spend 4hrs with me before travelling back down south to get the ferry to Germany :T Guess who I married :p
It comes to something when you have to "go" all the way round the other side of the world to find a decent man :rotfl:

On the seed thing -break the rules !!! "who? me?" never :D .... when I have checked..i will list any -then if anyone wants to PM me to ask where I got them from then I will let them know ;):D

jtb2412.... aren't roasted tomatoes stunning... I have to bag em fast or there would be none left.... they are so yummy on a slice of toast ;)

I use most of mine in pasta dishes.. so I will say, drop some chorizo/salami in a dry frying pan so it releases oil, then add a sliced onion and cook for a few minutes, then some frozen mushrooms, peppers and peas and cook some of the liquid off...then drop a bag of the roasted tomatoes/veg in , add a dollop of cream cheese and a dollop of wholegrain mustard and seasoning. Then throw in some cooked pasta and stir over the heat..then serve... Its one of our faves -but there are endless varriations on it :T

Lesley... Tomatoes are my fave thing to grow I think... I allready have 10 varieties and grew 30 plants this season :p ... all outside too... they have done really well... next season Im going to be more organised with the situating of them... hoping to free up space by growing cumbers, squash etc up arches so that the tomatoes can go along fences etc for more shelter:D

right back to my knitting I go :D night all

    Good morning all

Well, fed DH the cottage pie that I added lentils to last night:rolleyes: Asked him how it was and his comment was "you used the veggie mince didnt you?" Said nope but that I had used red lentils to bulk it out to have some another night.....all he said was "thought it tasted different" lol, I think I may have used a few too many lentils. DH did say it still tasted nice just different. He went on to say..." you are really starting to take this pre-war and war time rationing and cooking to heart":rotfl: I said every little bit helps and that I have been getting lots of ideas from the site. He is very supportive of my trying to cut costs especially when not so long ago, just for the two of us I was spending on average of £70+ on a weekly shop. Dont spend anywhere near that now, probably about £25-£35 a week now averaged out over the month, more often than not a lot less. Think last week it was £15 for the week. I now also have gone back to buying meat from the butcher and the meat van at the market instead of the shops. Save stacks of cash with the meat van just wont buy chicken from them.

tonight I am going to make chili (with chocolate) and tortillas and rice for dinner. Going to try and add a few lentils to it again as well as only have a few left anyway:o will see if he notices it as I generally use quorn mince for chilli as i love it nice and thick. Just wish the stuff was cheaper, my indulgence I suppose.

Another rainy morning here, am really getting tired of the rain and feel so sleepy and just not with it as of late due to the horribl weather and lack of sun. Really think that summer missed us completely!

Well, off to do a bit of paid work now while my phones are quiet and the dryer happily working away. Might make some blueberry or bannana bread/muffins later will have to see if I have any mashed bananas in the freezer. They are soooooooooooo lovely and sweet when they turn black in the freezer and i use less sugar when I make the muffins and breads that way.

Well off I go for a bit. Wishing you all a lovely morning
