    Morning all

ooohhh meal replacements  :rotfl: .... amongst every other diet I have done..and I have done sooooo many... the last 1 was lipo trim  ... I have never known such pain in my life.... lets just say no amount of prunes, figs etc would help THAT :o ..not to mention having a mouth like the bottom of a budgies cage :p and breath that could have cleared crowds in seconds :o ...and i put back on what i lost..shock horror :rotfl: .. the only good thing about lipo trim for me was the fact that it made me see sense .... I joined the OS weightloss thread... and decided to stop buying "diet, low fat, low sugar, low carb yawn yawn yawn.. food... I now use butter, full fat mayo etc... just in sensible portions, and rarely crave anything :jI really do believe that the synthetic stuff just confusses your system..well mine anyway.. I have finally found a way I can eat for the rest of my life :D ..and have shifted 8st 1lb since the 17th AUG last year :D ..still have some more to shift but im getting closer..and no hassle, no stress woohoo..just wish I had tried this before

right back to the subject :o .... just collected this little lot :-
    3lbscn8.th.jpg
Nomnomnom... I will be roasting them of with other veggies later -apart from the big apricot one..he is mine all mine :p
Im going to do another chicken cannelloni for diner tonight using some leftover roast and some of the roasted off veggies... i really loved the last 1 i concocted ..... so i might make a double batch and freeze 2 portions for another time ;)
I have been sat knitting again this morning :D so need to do some x stitch this afternoon..
oh and I have just about finalised my beans/pulse order ... so will order that later... then I think im about done :T
Have a great day everyone..will pop by later to see what you have all been up to :D

I am supposed to be losing weight as well. GP stuck me on the little blue pills nearly 3 weeks ago and I have stopped taking as they made me feel awful. However I have managed to drop 7 pounds in the nearly 3 weeks without them!
:T:j Well done you. 7lbs in 3 weeks is really great news :j:T

Just think - it's a nice healthy weight loss, and when (like me as well) weight is an issue for health, even a small amount of loss is good news.

I was told may years ago that every 1lb overweight you are you're applying the equivalent of an extra stone to the base of your spine  I'm about 3 stone over an 'ideal' weight, and have back problems....... I'm hoping to start dropping weight in the next few weeks though, as son is starting a college course, so walking the dogs is going to fall back onto me at least 3 (probably 4 and possibly 5) days a week. And the Dalmatian isn't satisfied with 10 mins round the estate like the Yorkie is, so it's going to be 1-2 hours every day I take him out :o

I must admit, life has been very stressful as of late. So much happening and take aways were becoming the norm again as well as far too much wine. Since laid off the takeaway, if we go out I eat sensibly and have cut waaaaaaaaaaaaay back on the wine except on a saturday or friday night (one not both) managed to shed 7 pounds.

I am only 43 and have had a total knee replacement last year mind you that arose partly from an accident some 15 years ago and arthritis set in, but wieght did not help, am borderline diabetic so they say and have high blood pressure (very high)

GP wanted me to lose a stone by the 15th/9, but I dont think so! one pound at a time is the best way for me.

Mrs M, think I might have to do a bit of reading on the what you said. Sounds very intriging and quite frankly makes sense! Thank you

will !!!!!! off now, more work to do but keep peeking in. sorry if I have waffled about a bit this morning......just ignore me, one of those days.

That's what's recently made me focus on my diet more. After bulging a disc I'm realising every lb counts. It's simple really, need to cut out fatty foods, stick to meals and not eat rubbish. At the moment, if I don't do that anyway, thanks to my meds I get the most horrifying time on the loo :rotfl:It's like enforced healthiness, probably the best thing that could have happened to me.

Blackberry gin takes a long time to mature IME, about 18mths to 2 yrs. Less time than that and it is a bit bland somehow (and I tried adding cinnamon sticks, vanilla pods etc). After 18mths, it takes no a wonderful chocolatey taste. MMMmmmm. Now if only the sdoding blackberries would ripen!

MrsM, thanks for posting that. I've been meaning to congratulate you on your weightloss and it interesting to hear that you have basically ended up in the same place I have regarding your weight and food. Many congratulations!
  • I've always skipped this conversation whens its come up before but this time I'll join in. I'v always had a weight problem until suddenly about 6 years ago I joined WeightWatchers and never looked back. I lost a lot, got pregnant, gained again, lost again, got pregnant, gained again (look away Weezl! ) but finally lost the 6 stone I was carrying around. I did this basically by looking at my habits and deciding what was more important to me, to feel healthier & happier or to eat copious amount of !!!!y food. I chose happiness and health. I got to goal last Chrismas and yes its hard to change your mindset from losing weight to maintaining weight and I still struggle with it (I'm not telling you about what I've eaten in the last 2 weeks!) but I know I'll never go back to the weight I was and I work constantly at it.
I did this by changing my attitude to food, its just fuel for your body and not something to love or to love you. That said I believe you should put the best quality fuel in your body that you can ( I used to exist on junk food!) and understand what meals are made of, so many people these days don't understand basic nutrition previously myself included. I tried various concoctions, slim fast, cabbage soup (YUK!!!!) etc but I really found the answer when i went to WW. The support system you get at a weight loss group is invaluable. I don't really believe there is a lot of difference between the competitors, SW, Rosemary Connelly & WW as I believe it is the support system that is the most effective. I even worked for WW for a while and its always amazed me the number of people who weigh and leave without talking to anyone.
I do agree Mrs Mc thats its important to get a balance that works for you. I've always slightly tweeked the plan I was following to fit in with me and my family and as long as you are happy ad loosing/maintaining weight then thats great. Remeber that some food listed as low fat is anything but! Check the label, educate yourself
P.S. Excellent weight loss Mrs Mc, I'm impressed, keep doing what works!!!!!

My piece of advice ( please feel free to ignore it) is join a weight loss organisation, pay your money, commit yourself, immerse yourself in the plan for a while (you WILL annoy your friends but tough) so you understand it throughly and it becomes second nature to you. Learn a little about nutrition and portion control and most importantly don't give up. Never let a bad day (and we ALL have them) turn into a bad week, bad month etc and undo all you've done. Easily done but you have to change your habits for life not just for a few weeks/months.

What an inspiring story Bunny. I have always been big from when I started school to now - 57 years old EEEEK - I was skinny when I was 7 or 8 and had had chicken pox, whooping cough and mumps (I think it was mumps) one after the other, but it was the done thing to feed children up then, so I was soon big again. Then the only other time, I was 15, bicycling 6 miles up steep hills to work on a dairy farm all day, no access to extra food, then cycling home again. Nicely slim for 9 months, got pregnant and never been slim since. I have been on a diet, just off a diet, thinking about starting a diet or over eating, my entire life. What I hope to achieve is to get through the weight loss phase whilst learning about why I do this, then gradually reintroduce food and manage maintenance. I know it's a lifetime's commitment and I have eaten healthily for many years now, but too much of it, and that's the bit I need to sort out.
  • here is the link for the blackberry gin, it says you can do it with vodka too, the recipee here says 3 months to mature
hope i can do the link right
