    Hi bashful

Do you put any fat in your dough?.. that helps it.. I don't mind, as ours doesn't last long enough..on the rare occasions I don't think we will get through it..or think we will get through it to quick ;) .. I slice it up and freeze in 2s .... mind even if it starts to dry out..its still great for toasting :D

Hi Bashful, I bought a little slicing guide box off amazon for about £10. I have found it really useful for both aiding in NOT making huge doorstep slices and it also keeps the bread nice and fresh.

umm...its about what youre hapy with me thinks? For instance when my mum was pregnant with me she drank a fair bit...now while you can argue that no harm done I AM dyslexic and that can be one of the side effects of drinking alch in pregnancy...I think its a tricky one generally with food; cant have this; cant have that and in the end you cant have owt! I feel, much life my genera life philosophy, that each to their own..I no more have the right to tell someone else what to do than they do me but would hope as a good friend that I ca inform and advise while respecting individual choice....

Gawd! I'm sorry to hear that that is possible reason for your dyslexia - guess you're always going to be wondering if thats why it happened and cant help (well it wouldnt help me anyways I do know) in the relationship with your mother. Hope that isnt the reason and that its "one of those things" instead.

Anyways - I saw this book t'other day in the "For Dummies" series....ie about dyslexia - think the title was "Overcoming Dyslexia for Dummies". I rather like that series myself - so thought of you when I saw that one and wondered if you have come across it?

Re bread going stale - I make my recipe of (wholemeal) bread 2 large loaves at a time - one for the freezer (unless it got made the morning of a day my mother comes visiting - in which case it ends up "walking out the door" with her) and one for the breadbin. Wrapped in teatowel in breadbin. I do use fat in mine - to be precise 2 teaspoons of olive oil per large loaf - and guess that could be why mine doesnt go stale (might find out soon - as am now dieting again - so not adding my usual oil and honey to it).

ALLEGRA - saw your comment re making pasta. Cant recall seeing a recipe for making one's own pasta on this thread - could we have yours purlease?:D
