Cool thanks munchki. I made some nana muffins the other week and added an extra nana and loads of choc chips - they came out really moist and lovely (but not really good for the waist line ) Was planning on freezing some.... but we ate them all instead
Was planning on doing a batch for the kids school lunches so if they freeze ok will be doing that instead of buying choc bars for the kids lunchesworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -

Thanks for this Bunny, brought a tear to my eye actuallyI'm trying to get my head around having children and this just sums it up perfectly.
Allegra, thanks for sharing the story behind the potato and pasta recipe, I love hearing the background. And thanks so much for the chana dal recipe too - I just got a whoopsied pack of split peas and was wondering what to do with them, completely forgot about this, an absolute fave of ours! :TThe 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

if you use skimmed milk and apple puree if you have any for part or possibly all of the oil they would be a bit more slimming. but no fun in that!!
I make all this lovely stuff, but dont generally eat much of it, hubby does that. he calls himself the official taste tester when i decide to start experimenting in the kitchen!:rotfl:I am somebody. I am me. I like being me. And I need nobody to make me somebody! Louis L'Amour0 -
ooooh more fab recipes! thanks loads, I must index them, I've got lots of catching up to do
:o:o.
Just changed my sig to add on the extra Fergus cash til christmas, and deducted what we've already spent of that.
Pilchards have featured heavilygonna have them today again
. Think this is a healthier craving than the woman I heard of who was scraping off big lumps of gypsum plaster from her walls and eating that!!!!
Thought you might be interested to know what a typical days eating looks like now from a weezl plus fergus point of view, so here's yesterday's stats:
breakfast 2 x toast, 2 x poached or scrambled egg (have done some interesting research on salmonella, so am comfortable with not having these hard boiled, as is the typical advice. Happy to say more if anyone cares!) cost = 21p
lunch jacket potatoes around 400-450g worth, and half a can of pilchards in tomato sauce cost = 42p
snack 2 slices of HM bread with mayo and tomatoes from garden, sliced. cost = 5p
Dinner chilli and rice, 41p this will reduce when I can once again face padding it out with lentils!
pudding foraged blackberries and 20 ml of elmlea plus sugar, 7p
total, a slightly over budget £1.16
I shall make up for it on other daysI'm relying on being able to face more of my usual foods now since I seem to be leaving my nauseous phase!
Love weezl x

That's why the plan is to stick them in the freezer - that way I have to think for at least 5 minutes before I stuff one into my mouth - else it will break my teethworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -

Going to check another blackberry patch today to see if I can get enough to make it worth making jam (haven't touched yesterdays yet) - but if not I guess it'll be Blackberry muffins first, and banana and chop chip next time :TCheryl0 -
Blackberry and apple crumble is nice too - mum used to make that, as well as blackberry and apple pie. Just make normal apple pie or crumble and bung in some blackberriesworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0

That sounds good and have most ingredients.
Recently bought yellow split peas just out of interest.... I have ginger powder and chilli powder as well as fresh spinach - reckon it will work????
I would think that'd be absolutely fine. I've often used powdered when I ran out of fresh - the only trouble is, I tend to forget to err on the side of caution with the chili powder, so we often end up breathing fire after dinner... :eek:0 -
cheryl, I have loads of muffin recipes i.e. banana, summer fruit, raspberry, cheese etc. If you would like any of them, just let me know as am always happy to share

Hello pepys, well me new telephones have arrived (via quido of course) which is v. exciting. Will go for the daal recipe as have all dried ingredients in...must make decision on whether to do an online shop...hate the thought of paying delivery...will have a think and friend offered to get some bits for me tomorrow. Dont worry I am taking it as easy as I guess I ever will. I guess I now find it hard to do nothing at all!! The prune cake is yummy! Will also try some fresh made yog with prunes and honey...like others rather alot of pain killing medication does have an "impact" (geddit?!!)...
Must go and tidy a bit...flat looks like rather large bomb has hit....Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0
