How much flour would you usually use to fill this tin, sounds the same size as my small tin but always thought it was too small for 'real' bread
I've never used them for 'real' bread (other than my bad attempt at potato bread), but plan to try the no-knead tomorrow -- will be making a full qty batch and splitting between 2 tins I think.

Errr...'scuse I purlease...but what type of vinegar was it? The choice chez ceridwen is malt, white wine, cider and balsamic....I'm thinking presumably the white wine vinegar or cider vinegar would be okay?

hey ceridwen, it's either malt vinegar or distilled malt vinegar, i wouldn't suggest using any kind of flavoured vinegars as they would affect the taste of the paneer, I will try write you all a recipe for Homemade Paneer Poorji which is lovely with homemade paneer when i get a chance!

Can't seem to manage weezls 50p a day..........but tonight we had
chicken, bacon, broccoli, cauliflower, courgettes and cheese sauce baked in the oven........chicken was left over from yesterdays roast, broccoli/cauliflower left overs, courgettes from the garden (1st lot!) and cheese sauce out of a packet that MIL gave us (she always gives us tins and packets of 'stuff' she's bought and doesn't use........lol)
OH worked it out as costing 50p per person, enough to feed four so its not too bad.

hapilass there are two threads on SW support - one on DFW & the other is on relationships I think...plus there are recipes on the o/s menu thread relating to SW. What do you need to know? Happy to help if I can...but am no expert & still getting the hang of it! Do you have all the books?
Re the bread failures have you tried the no knead one I posted (readers digest recipe)? I usually try to put the yeast in warm water to get it going (phnar phnar!) or try the soda bread that doesent need kneading or rising! Sometimes mine didnt rise but I cooked it anyway & if its too hard you can use it for bread crumbs! The knack is to have it warm to activate the yeast but different breads rise differents amounts. Dont give up though!
Great that so many people saving dosh! Well done on the SC cw...make sure you get some chill time in amongst the cleaning. For what its worth re the bad mthers club I think it sounds like giving them a swift "youre an adult, behave like it or out" has done you all wonders as youve set clear boundaries & children (regardless of age!) respond well to that!. They need to know when they are out of order! I would say letting them get away with it for an easy life is what makes a bad mother - not one who lovingly (sometimes!!) says "thats enough".

    Hmmmmm....... thanks for that :)

    I think

So if I'm doing the no-knead which uses 1.5kg flour, should I be splitting it between THREE tins that size? No problem if I should, as I've actually dug out about half a dozen of them (don't ask!)

OMG! You now have me calculating costs on what I make!
    Cheap pudding.

    Mr T's Orange jelly 8p
Value tin of sliced peaches 29p Drain and chop them up a little smaller
Makes 6 ramekins of jelly with fruit
    served with
    Instant custard 8p
makes it 7.5p per serving and takes no time to make

As I used peaches in juice I was wondering if there are any suggestions on what to do with the reserved juice?

    Germ

I use this kind of thing to make icelollies for my kids - most supermarkets have cheap lolly moulds at this time of year - or use icecube trays and have flavoured cubes for their drinks.
