:rotfl::rotfl:redsquirrel I don't think my marketing is as good as M and S.

Perhaps I should start saying in my breathiest voice:

'this is not just lentil pate..... this is freshly-soaked, lovingly roasted, lentil pate, with home grown garden herbs.....'

:rotfl: yes,yes you should put that on your blog weezl :T
  • OOOhh Avocet the first recipe

From lurkdom to stardom in a few days ;)

The more the merrier i say i guess the POTM will increase attention

The coconut cake i linkied too the other day here

    the weights are
    1 cup sugar = 200g
    1 cup dessicated coconut = 75g
    1 cup milk = 250ml
    1 cup flour = 250g

my calculations make that 50p per 2lb loaf (about 10 pieces or 8 fat ones) i think acetate monkey may get fattened yet:rotfl:

    Shaz

I made this earlier on and it is gorgeous!!!! Half of it has all ready gone, kids couldnt get enough and OH who hates coconut  said it was lovely too.
I also remember the words of my friends, but I would rather have enemies than friends like you :p

How amazing! shaz's cake has converted Mr Outrageous Monkey to the delights of coconut :T:T:T

Shaz does the quantity you said do 1 x 2lb loaf tin of the coconut cake?

Well, day 3 of the challenge dawned greyly, but after successfully cooking 18 portions of jam sponge pud, a jar of grapefruit marmalade and some blackcurrant ice cream, I feel very productive!

Also I'm thrilled to bits because a very kind friend has begun to do a new diet;), and has very generously given us lots of things which don't fit the plan!:T

Lots will keep or freeze, but I've been putting my thinking cap on for the rest...

half a tub of creme fraiche and 150 ml of cream, that's gonna be an icecream using some of my lemon marmalade...:D

4 crumpets, use by yesterday, small and look great though! - Mr Weezl's next 2 breakfasts sorted (with a little muesli adjunct!).;)

2 packets of choc chips! will make and freeze some cookie dough with these in tomorrow...:j

OOOOh and there's ikea meatballs, cream sauce and lingonberry jam :T:T:T Good times.

Sometimes being a freegan is just so darned easy! ;)

    Very much love,

    Weezl x

Hi there yes the 1 cup each of sugar, coconut, milk and flour(250ml american cup) make 1 x 2LB loaf

I love ikea meatballs and their cafe is almost cheap enough for the weezl's to eat in

Shaz - who wishes she was closer to Ikea and not an hours drive away(Leeds)

Hi eileen forward :rotfl:good username BTW,

there's a soup recipe here that looks nice, and it seems to behave and taste a bit like spinach, so maybe substitute for that in a few recipes??? How easy was it to grow? Did you start from seed?

Thanks shaz, I'll give that one a go when we've used up some of our other goodies :D

    Love Weezl x

  • Thanks weezl, the comfrey is a mystery to me. It just appeared. I like it because the bees love it. But it so invasive, I just pull it up when it gets too big and chop it up for the compost heap. At the moment it's even growing through crack in the paving slabs. I love this thread. I think you could right a book with the tips and recipies.
  • A friend of mine asked a chef (and I use that term losely) in Ikea how they made the cream sauce. He said the easiest way to make it is, instant gravy with a bit of cream added. I have done this myself cos we love Ikea meatballs. Its not quite the same but its cheaper than buying the dry mix packets of sauce.
